New Check-In Procedure, April 2 at ICS: Improved Security Measure
We are pleased to announce that beginning Tuesday, April 2nd we will begin using the Raptor Security
Sign-in System at ICS. This system scans a visitor's license the first time they come to ICS, runs a
security check, and prints a picture I.D. that displays the name, date, time, and destination of the
visitor. Returning visitors who have had their license scanned will be in the database and will not
need to be scanned again. This will give us greater oversight as to who enters and exits the school.
Please help us by bringing your driver's license with you the next time you visit ICS.

SchoolKidz School Supplies Deadline Tomorrow March 22
On March 7 children in grades K-7 brought home a letter and order form regarding
SchoolKidz School Supplies. SchoolKidz sponsored by Staples is a program that will
allow you to order a personalized school supply kit tailor made to your child's
classroom supplies for next year. This is an optional program but offered to you as a
convenient way to purchase most of your child's school supplies for next year. The
deadline to submit your order using the order forms is this Friday, March 22. Online orders can be
place until April 5. School Kidz provides a small financial compensation to ICS for each kit ordered.
Need another form? Contact the school office and one will be sent home with your child.
Fortresses, Lies and Addictions...Read More by Mr. Danish
How are fortresses, lies and addictions alike? This is a question I have been
discussing with students over the past six months. You would be amazed how
early in life children understand the meaning of the word "addiction." This is
central to the Apostle Paul's message concerning the weapons of "divine" power
(2 Corinthians 10:4-5). Fortresses, lies and addictions are similar because they are built up over time
and hard to tear down.... Click here to read more.
A BIG Thank You from Mr. Pinkley
Dear Families, thank you for your generous show of appreciation for the
faculty and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. The luncheon on
Tuesday was very delicious and the gift baskets, well, it's like Christmas in
the hallways at the end of the day. Everyone is excited and sharing stories of
what they won with big smiles on their faces. I know the Middle School
teachers appreciated the great snack food that was set out for them during the week as well. Thank
you for showing your support in tangible ways to the ICS team. We are truly blessed to have such
great faculty and staff at ICS and equally blessed to have so many of you show your support for the
ICS team throughout the entire school year.
Financial Aid
Applications for tuition assistance are processed online by FACTS. All required documentation is due
by April 17. There is a processing fee of $30 for this service. Families who are currently receiving aid
should have received information in their re-enrollment package. Please remember that a new online
application must be completed each year you request tuition assistance.

Hot Lunch Help Needed on Wednesdays
Servers Needed: We are in need of 5 to 6 parents to serve hot lunch each week on
Wednesdays. It is a once-a-month commitment for about 2 ½ hours on Wednesdays between
11:15 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. It is a great way to fulfill your parent service hours. It is always a
blessing to serve side by side as a team interacting with the students and other ICS parents.
We'll even treat you to lunch. Contact Lori Slattery.
Shoppers Needed: We also need volunteer shoppers (5) for drinks and snacks for the hot
lunch program. Again, this is a once-a-month commitment with the added flexibility of
shopping and delivering the goods to ICS at your convenience. This is a great way to
earn parent service hours. For interest in any of the Hot Lunch openings please, e-mail Lori
Slattery or call her cell at 703-338-8828.
