EXALTED RULER MESSAGE
February brought a visit from Millard C. Pickering, GER his lovely wife
Susanne and those traveling with them. Thank you to everyone who as-
sisted in making his visit to our Lodge a memorable time for them.
Valentine’s dinner dance was a huge success and it was sold out. It’s
wonderful to see our members attending these special events and also our
weekly dinners.
Wednesday, March 5th our Americanism Chair, Cheryl Thigpen has in-
vited the two recipients of the Americanism Essay Contest and their fam-
ilies for dinner. After dinner we will go in the Lodge Room where they
will read their essays and receive their award. Everyone is invited to this
7:00pm ceremony.
The annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations on March 17thticket sales are
in full swing. Tickets for St. Paddy’s are available daily at the Lodge
from 5-6 pm. Also, tickets for the “Mixed Nuts” April 5th program are
available. What a fun show they put on its always entertaining.
We have two parking events in March. Volunteers are always welcome.
This is my last bulletin as Exalted Ruler and a time for reflection. We
have initiated 124 new members this year. All the Committee’s working
together have contributed to this year’s success. Our HCC has turned the
House around where members want to spend more time at the Lodge
where fellowship abounds.
Success can be determined by knowing you have left your term with a
positive result. My heartfelt appreciation goes out to the officers and
members for their support thank you for giving me the honor of serving
our Lodge especially as the first woman Exalted Ruler.
Randy Stay our newly Exalted Ruler takes the rein April 1st and I wish
Randy and his team of Officers much success.
Fraternally,
Elizabeth West, Exalted Ruler

ELK OF THE MONTH
Rob McGee is Elk of the month for March. When there was
a vacancy on the Board of Trustees Rob readily accepted the
election to the board. Rob is a regular volunteer at the Tiki
Grill. Whenever the need arises Rob volunteers. When he
heard there was a shortage of socks that we contribute for
Veterans who reside in local nursing homes the next day
Rob brought in a case of socks to replenish the need. Rob
and his wife Donna are great citizens and they donate their
time to many needed causes in our community. Rob is an
exceptional Elk and it my honor to name you Elk of the
Month.
All members are cordially invited to attend the Lodge Officer
Installation Dinner which will be held on Saturday, March 29
in the Lodge Meeting Room.
Ceremony to begin at 6 P.M with dinner being served at 7
P.M. Just Dave will be providing the music for our dancing
pleasure.
The menu for the evening will be Chateaubriand with Red
Velvet Cake for dessert.
Tickets are $15 per person and may be purchased from any
Lodge Officer.

Eland bulletin March 2014 Hello everyone
I hope you are all enjoying the return of the warm weather. I want to
thank everyone who came out to support our Past Exalted Rulers at the
recognition dinner on February 1st. We had a great turnout and all of the
Eland Club are proud to honor those who have served Lodge 829 so
well over the years.
At the March meeting we will be holding elections for our 2014-
2015 slate of Officers (Wed. March 5that 7:30 pm in the back hall). Our
slate of officer candidates is:
Marybeth Geronimo – President Paula Satrang – Vice President
Rosemary Dean – Treasurer Joan Geronimo – Secretary
If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else for an
Officer position please contact Ethel Picknally at 797-3349. Nomina-
tions will also be accepted from the floor at the meeting. Officer Instal-
lation will be on Saturday March 29 at the Elks Officer Installation and
Awards ceremony (6:00 pm).
Eland Club of 829 is pleased to announce that effective April 1,
2014 Elk members are now eligible to become Associate Members of
Eland Club. We are following the lead of the Florida Ladies of Elks
Organization who has seen an increase in Elks who wanted to be a part
of the auxiliary organizations, but because they weren’t a spouse of an
Elk they weren’t allowed join. For those who would like to take a more
active role in our organization, or just to show their support, applications
will be made available in the lounge or from any Eland officer. Dues
are $15.00 annually, and the application fee is waived.
On Tuesday March 18 at 6:30 pm we will be hosting a member-
ship social – we welcome all Spouses, prospective Associate Members
and former Eland members to come and meet our current membership
and hear about the activities that we have planned for the upcoming
year, and to learn more about the charities that our fundraising efforts
support.

Looking ahead – mark your calendars and block off Saturday July 26th
for our 40th Annual Luau. More details to come!!
Until next month,
Marybeth Geronimo

***Florida Elks Youth Camp***
Florida Elks Youth Camp Bus Trip
The trip to FEYC was very successful and enjoyed by all who par-
ticipated. We had rain but it did not “rain on our parade” so to
speak. Thanks to all the members who participated in the trip.
Registration for FEYC Summer Camp
It is that time again. Registration for the summer sessions is now
open. If you have anyone who wishes to go to camp this summer
please let me know as soon as possible. We sponsored 18 children
last year and a total of 32 went from our lodge. I have the applica-
tions or you can go on line and get the application.
Thanks to all Brothers and Sisters several children come to the
camp with little more than the clothes on their back and we make
them very comfortable thanks to your donations. They get new
clothes, shoes and toys or games that otherwise would not have
been possible for them to have. Please continue with your dona-
tions of games, sports items and other things that are appropriate,
for the 9-13 year old children who attend our Florida Elks Youth
Camp. They have requested that we not send clothing, as they wish
to purchase new clothing items for the less fortunate campers. We
continue to need donations, particularly SPORTS equipment that
can be used at the camp. Keep them coming!!
If you have any questions about the camp, trip or donations, please
feel free to call me at any time: Irv Stockdale
Cell: 904 315 3773, Home 904 471 7812. Email: kodaga-
Your Continued Support and Donations make
this possible.
Thank YOU! 15
