will not have school on Friday, March 15 unless we have another snow day before Spring Break. Guaranteed Spring Break is March 18-22. Classes will resume on Monday, March 25.

Yearbooks It’s not too late to order your yearbook! Yearbook orders are being taken in the office. You may bring $16 in cash or a check made out to Parkside and Mrs. Ebersold will help you. To order online,

visit: www.interstate.com/yearbook and enter code 34006N

Attendance Is Important Parents, please remember that attendance is important. Leaving school early counts the same as coming to school late. Both count against a student’s attendance. It is important for every student to be at school every minute of the day. Unless your child is vomiting, has diarrhea or a fever, they

are expected to be in school the entire day. Students are counted tardy if they are not in their classroom at 8:10. School is dismissed at 2:37.

Third Grade

Fifth Grade

On Friday, February 22nd the fifth graders had a successful Colonial Wax Museum! The gym hosted

over 90 student booths of colonial characters ready to share about the colonial time period. The

students were knowledgeable about the colonies, as well as artisans and notable figures of the

time. Thank you to all the family members, teachers, and students who visited the museum. We

were so happy to have a crowd to present to, and we hope you learned something new!

Pre-K

The children in Edwards Pre-k class pretended to be Dental Hygienists during Dental Health Month.

They examined and cleaned the Dragon's teeth. It is a fun way to learn care of our own teeth.

Pre-K

Ever since we built gingerbread houses in

December, Mrs. Morlok's Pre-K students have

shown an interest in making more houses.

We had a visit from Rachana Kalkarni with

Louis Joyner Architects and she talked to us

about what it means to be an architect. We

learned about the drawings that architects

make as well as the physical models they

make to represent a building project. Our

students have drawn out their house designs

on graph paper and we are getting ready to

make our physical models. Stay tuned!

Teacher Appreciation week Teacher Appreciation week is coming up May 6-10. The Parkside PTO has some special things planned to show our teachers how much we appreciate and value them. You can help us in a few

different ways:

GIFT CARDS - We are asking for donations of gift cards to raffle to the teachers each day that week. Gift cards can be for any dollar amount and from any store or restaurant. Cards can be turned in to Mrs. Ebersold in the office by Friday, May 3.

WRITE A THANK YOU NOTE - Tuesday, May 7 is National Teacher Appreciation Day. On this day, take the time to say thank you or write a special note of gratitude for all of the hard work and

long hours your child's teacher has put in this year.

VOLUNTEER - We are in need of a few volunteers to help serve lunch one day this week.

If you would like to volunteer or have any questions please contact Susan Finney at [email protected].

Bonus Program Update So far this year, we've collected $516.90 with Box Tops.

Keep collecting and place them in the Box Tops bin in the cafeteria.
