    From Parks!

Chattanooga Parks and Recreation wan an important asset to thecommunity during Black History Month, not only for the education of ouryouth, but for all ages. From our Black History Living Museum in fourdifferent community centers, to the essay contest at Tyner, to the

celebration at Westside Community Center, our staff, community, andvolunteers did a great job. On display was not only teamwork, fellowship and friendship, but passion seen in the eyes of performersand the satisfaction of a job well done by youth. The Black History Living Museum was a big hit utilizing the talents of agreat director, Ivy Strickland, but the creation of props, programs, lighting, sound, travel and more. Hats off to all that participated fromnumerous centers including Prevention and Youth Development. I am certain that the events held at Westside,Tyner, and more will return next year for an even bigger impact on the Community!
