    Dear Parents and Carers,

Are you interested in how the school runs? Would you like to be involved in making sure the work of theGoverning Body is well organised? The Governors are looking to appoint a new clerk to the Governing Bodyto replace Trish Summers, who has been our fabulous clerk for almost 5 years. This post is for Septemberand is an interesting insight into educational procedures and practice. If this appeals to you, please contactMrs Hutchinson or the school office for further details. This could be the exciting challenge/opportunity youknow youve been looking for.

Parents QuestionnaireThe Parents questionnaire should be with you today. We do value your opinions and hope you recognise itas being an important way of being able to contribute to the schools continued development. Please note:we have asked for the questionnaires to be returned by 17th May - but you dont have to wait that long! Whynot take advantage of the Bank holiday and, while sipping something cool, spend a few moments of quietcontemplation...

The Big DigPlease come along and help us dig over our vegetable patches on13th May. The childrenhave been busy planting and looking after seedlings, and they are now ready to be plantedout. We will commence operation Big Dig at 1.30pm and would appreciate any help.Refreshments will be provided in return for your hard work.

Parents ForumThank you to those of you who came to the Parents forum. There was some genuinely interesting andthought provoking discussion and some unfinished work We will aim to return to this session before theend of the school year.

Parent MailPlease remember to include all your Marcham School children on your Parent Mail account or you maymiss out on letters which go to certain year groups only. This is especially important at this time of year asthere will be individual class letters going home concerning school visits.

Last Thursdays Cake SaleI would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped raise funds for the Royal BromptonFoundation. We received many cake donations and had a fantastic turnout for the event, raising over 150- and still rising!

Carina and her family would also like to say a big thank you to you all, as this money will help this amazingcharity to go on and support other families facing challenging times.

If you would like to follow Carinas story and see how she is doing since having her hearttransplant 4 weeks ago, do take a look at her website http://carinamarcangelo.com/ as shestill needs lots of positive thoughts and prayers.

Thanks again for your help, Freya Mizen, Giraffes.

Lunches on Tuesday 30th AprilNo parents will be charged for hot school lunch on the above date. The food delivered was not as statedon the menu and on raising our concerns to our lunch provider, they have offered to waive lunch costs onthat day.

Climbing FrameCan we please remind you that the climbing frame is out of bounds after normal supervised times. If youare picking up from an after school club please do not let your children play on the climbing frame or onany outdoor equipment.

    Ants

Its the time of year when ants are attracted to lunch boxes. Obviously we are not able to put chemicalsdown when children are in school so we must do everything we can to avoid encouraging them. We do notwant children opening their lunch boxes to find little visitors inside so please ensure all food is wrapped (aclean margarine tub is ideal for sandwiches and can be reused many times) and water only in drink bot-

    tles please.
