Hello, Friends! I’m excited that spring is on its way. Spring is a time when we magically de-velop an energy burst and refocus our atten-tion on filling our cal-endar with pleasurable activities. For me, the excitement of discov-ering new destinations, learning new things, and meeting new friends through travel is invigorating. We had a wonderful group of travelers to Panama in January. The weather was warm and sunny, a nice respite from the Midwest cold. Tour highlights were our Panama Canal cruise experience, Embera Indian village visit, sloth educational session, aerial rainforest tram ride, and relaxation for two unstructured days at our beautiful resort. AmeriClub had a phenomenal response to “The Touch of Grace” New Melleray Abbey experiences in February. To accommodate the 100 people who called to register, we sched-uled two additional dates, for a total of four sessions. It is a blessing to have this wonderful treasure in our area, and the high response level we received demonstrates the value many of us place in New Melleray Abbey. Before I leave for our exciting Hawaii trip on March 24, I will spend eight days in Vermont at my annual bank club directors’ conference. This is a highpoint of my year, as bank club directors from select banks around the country meet for educational workshops, networking, and area touring. It is a time to discover destinations of appeal to travelers and share ideas for offering valuable experi-ences to club members. I welcome this time to “recharge my batteries” each year.
