BIOGRAPHY

Frankfurt-born music video director.

He moved from Deutschland to the New York in 1984 started to promote himself.

Many of the 90s videos he directed were from the urban rap and hip-hop genre.

He directed music videos and worked with multimillion-dollar clients such as P. Diddy, Janet Jackson, Billy Joel, Cher and George Michael.

His Hollywood career rocketed in 2002, when he signed a contract with Michael Bay direct the remake of Tobe Hooper's Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Ready Or Not- The Fugees No Time”, Lil Kim feat. Puff Daddy

-Both videos have aspect of ‘water’. - Both videos have low-key colours. -Unlike no time this video is not explicit. -This video has a variety of locations unlike the no time vide. They are filmed on ski boats as well as in a submarine. -This video is more face paced where as the Lil Kim video seems to be slow paced. - Unlike the no time video there is a huge focus on mise-en-scene. There are more shots of scenery and props such as helicopters. They can do this because they are already an established band which means that the main focus does not have to be on them. -Marcus uses a lot of wide, establishing and long shots.

-Both videos have aspect of ‘water’. -Both videos have low-key colours. -This video has explicit qualities such as provocative clothing. -There is a sense of promiscuity in this video due to Lil Kim being surrounded by men in reviling clothing and heavy make up. -Unlike the Fugees video this video seems to be filmed in one location which I assume to be a shopping mall.- Since this is Lil Kim debut album there are a lot of mid-shots and close ups of her so that the audience can become familiarised with her presence. - Since P. Diddy is an established artist he presence in her video boosts her start quality and how serious critiques take her as an audience.
