C. Non-Peer Reviewed Curricular Programs Developed/Managed for Community Outreach and Education Walk Across Arkansas (2008-2011) A statewide 8-week physical activity campaign, held twice a year.

Highlights: Redesigned existing program in 2008 to capture miles walked measured by pedometer;

Team categories created to highlight winning teams of various fitness levels Redesigned program in 2010 with online data entry and measurement of minutes

exercised; teams recreated to have more flexibility (2-10 members), and designed to capture team category types (seniors, worksites, etc) to coordinate with the Department of Health Heart Disease State Plan; competition eliminated and personal goal setting featured.

Newsletter “HealthBreaks” is created for participants each week for the duration of the program. For list of newsletters, see pages below.

Increased participation in program by 25% between 2008 and 2010. The Body Walk (2008-2011) A 30’x36’ traveling exhibit with hands-on activities that teaches children (ages K-4) health and nutrition. This position required supervision of the Body Walk Coordinator who traveled the state and performed coordinating, billing and curriculum update activities. This was an approved SNAP-ED curriculum and reached 17,000+ children a year. Under my supervision, the program was revamped with a new activity book created, new curriculum for all 9 stations and a training video for setup and takedown of the exhibit.

General Health Programming (2008-2011) Health-related curricula developed for early child care providers (Best Care Program). Each lesson included a 50-minute powerpoint, handouts, activities and leader guide.
