Margin Builder Tool EMEA Overview: Symantec Partner Program What is Margin Builder? The Symantec Margin Builder Program rewards eligible resellers who actively identify, develop, and close incremental small and medium business sales opportunities for eligible products. You can register your deals in our online Margin Builder tool and earn additional upfront margins on qualifying SMB deals. Eligible partners To be eligible to use the Margin builder tool in the EMEA region, you will need to be a current member of the Symantec Partner program and fit one of the following profiles: (i) You are a member of the Symantec SMB ( Small and Medium Business ) Specialization Program at one of the following tiers: Elite SMB Specialist, Expert SMB Specialist, Advanced SMB Specialist, Accredited SMB Specialist. (ii) You are a member of the Symantec Partner Program (SPP) at one of the following levels: Premier Licensing, Platinum, Silver, Gold or Registered. SMB Specialization Program and SPP Partner Level requirements can be located on PartnerNet. Program criteria You are in compliance with the Symantec Partner Program. You accept the online Terms and Conditions for the Margin Builder Tool. What is Margin Builder?

The Symantec Margin Builder Program rewards eligible resellers who actively identify, develop, and close incremental small

and medium business sales opportunities for eligible products. You can register your deals in our online Margin Builder

tool and earn additional upfront margins on qualifying SMB deals.

Eligible partners

To be eligible to use the Margin builder tool in the EMEA region, you will need to be a current member of the Symantec

Partner program and fit one of the following profiles:

(i) You are a member of the Symantec SMB ( Small and Medium Business ) Specialization Program at one of the following

tiers: Elite SMB Specialist, Expert SMB Specialist, Advanced SMB Specialist, Accredited SMB Specialist.

(ii) You are a member of the Symantec Partner Program (SPP) at one of the following levels: Premier Licensing, Platinum,

Silver, Gold or Registered.

SMB Specialization Program and SPP Partner Level requirements can be located on PartnerNet.

Program criteria

• You are in compliance with the Symantec Partner Program.

• You accept the online Terms and Conditions for the Margin Builder Tool.

• Each opportunity that is registered for your end user customer must meet the following criteria:

⁃ must be for an eligible products & available license type as outlined at the following URL:

⁃ must be between the following use levels, as applicable:

◦ Desktop-based Eligible Products:

◦ 25 - 250 customer seats (for new licenses, version upgrades & cross-grade1 licenses)

◦ 5 -250 customer seats (for competitive upgrade licenses)

◦ Server-based Eligible Products:

◦ Between 1 and 4 servers maximum per Eligible Product

• Symantec will only consider registrations for end user customers who do not appear on Symantec's Named Account

listing. Please contact your account manager if you require any clarification or for an updated listing of Symantec's

Named Accounts. Symantec reserves the right to update this list from time to time; such changes shall not be applied

retrospectively to any pending registered sales opportunities.

• As an eligible partner you may not use this Tool to register opportunities for your own internal usage nor where you are

reselling the Eligible Products to other Symantec partners or resellers.

Eligible products

Eligible Partners may register transactions for the following Symantec eligible product families:

• Symantec™ Endpoint Protection

• Symantec™ Protection Suite

• Symantec Backup Exec™

• Symantec™ System Recovery

What tWhat types of products and serypes of products and services are novices are not eligiblet eligible??

The following products and services are not eligible under this Program: Business Critical Support, Managed Services

(MSS), maintenance/ support renewals and all Appliances.

How is a deal registered, reviewed and qualified?

If you are an eligible partner, you can register your qualifying sales deals using the online Tool. You can either do this

yourself, or if you prefer, you may delegate the registration of the sales deals on the Margin Builder Tool to your nominated

Symantec Authorized Distributor. Please be aware that in such event, the Symantec Authorized Distributor will be required

to use your details when registering the opportunity, and will be assumed to have your consent in doing so. You will be

solely responsible for the actions or omissions of your nominated Symantec Authorized Distributor in this regard.

After online submission, the opportunity will be validated against the current Symantec Named Account listing. If the

registration meets the eligibility requirements specified above, Symantec will approve the registration and issue you with a

unique Deal ID number (Deal ID). Deal IDs are specific to the end user customer for which the deal was approved.

Deal IDs are valid for a period of 60 days from date of approval, and they are granted to the Eligible Partner who first

registers the opportunity (Incumbent Eligible Partner). The incumbent Eligible Partner is encouraged to close the

transaction within 60 days. If the transaction has not closed within this time period the Deal ID automatically expires.

Following expiration of the Deal ID the registration process starts again. The original Incumbent Eligible Partner or any

other Eligible Partner may then register the transaction for the same end user customer. In this circumstance the first

Eligible Partner to register the opportunity will receive the new Deal ID and be the new Incumbent Eligible Partner for that

registration. They are then solely eligible for the benefits of this Tool for the new registration.

Discounts

At registration, you will be required to select the Authorized Distributor with whom you will place your order for the

registered opportunity. Symantec will provide sufficient discount* to this Authorized Distributor to enable them to provide

you with an additional recommended discount on closed deals approved via the Margin Builder Tool as outlined in the table

below. Any actual pricing will ultimately be as agreed between the Authorized Distributor and the Eligible Partner.
