Regional Housing Needs Regional Housing Need Allocation
(RHNA) is an unfunded state mandated planning process for housing in California. ABAG is responsible for allocating this state-determined regional housing need among all of the Bay Area’s nine counties and 101 cities
Factors include projected household growth, existing employment and projected employment growth, and projected household and employment growth near transit
Future RHNAs must be consistent with the Sustainable Communities Strategy (SCS) mandated by SB 375
RHNA will synchronize with the preparation of the Regional Transportation Plan eight year cycle

ABAG and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) in partnership with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) and the Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) launched “OneBayArea” in April 2010.
“OneBayArea” represents the overarching theme for the Bay Area’s sustainable community and climate action initiatives, like the Sustainable Communities Strategy (SCS) mandated by SB 375.

Certified over 2000 private businesses and public agencies in all nine Bay Area counties

that markets Green Businesses located in Solano County.

Retrofit Bay Area Program
Also, Solano County and cities within the county are a participants in the region-wide Retrofit Bay Area program.
This program will provide over $10 million to the region to promote and install energy efficiency retrofits in residential homes.
In addition to funds for general regional activities, approximately $453,000 has been allocated specifically for Solano County activities.
ABAG is developing the centralized website and regional call-center for residents to access.
