Marketing mix for sundarban as a tourist attraction: Product- here product is “sundarban”. Sundarban is a tourists' paradise. Every year thousands of tourists flock to this mangrove tiger-land. The name ecotourism is already well known in Sundarban. Sundarban is endowed with a rich flora and fauna. This mangrove forest has about 64 plant species which has more than 90% of Indian mangrove species with about 60% of total Indian mangrove area which supports the maximum number of tigers in a single patch among the tiger reserves of the country. The amphibian tiger population, which is estimated to be over 260 in number here, has distinct behavioral patterns and this makes Sundarban Tiger Reserve special from the other tiger reserves of the country. The core area of Sundarban mangrove forest area is also conserved as "World Heritage Site" as designated by the IUCN in the year of 1989. The main trees and big shrubs of the area are "Bain", "Keora", "Garan", "Garjan", "Genwa", "Khali", "Bakul", "Karkra", Dhundul", "Pasur", "Sundari", Hental", "Golpata" etc.The Royal Bengal Tiger is the king of this forest and it occupies the pinnacle of both the terrestrial and aquatic web. There are also Cheetal, Wild Boar, Rhesus Macaque, Fishing Cat etc. The creeks of Sundarban form the home of estuarine crocodile, the only surviving member of the Jurassic time. The aquatic fauna includes Gangetic Dolphin, River Terrapin (Batagur Baska), Olive Ridley Turtle, Green Turtle, Hawk's turtle, and different species of crabs, prawns, lobsters and fish.To add to colour and melody there are birds like Rose ringed Parakeet, Crow Pheasant, Pied Myna, Drongo, Bulbul, Tailor Bird, Magpie, Robin, Brahmini Kite, Spotted Dove, Adjutant Stork etc. Price: In case of sundarban price refers to the cost of enjoying a tour. pricing strategies for tour services may include: Pricing framing. - Pricing bundling.

Then the author stated that the flexibility of this tool is good because it can be used to communicate with a national audience or a particular specialized segments and a vast number of people can be reached with the message, so the cost per contact can be the lowest of the tools in the mix.TV, Radio, websites can be used to promote sundarban world wide as a tourist spot of natural beauty.

Personal selling: is traditionally perceived as a communication tool which involves face-to-face activities undertaken by individuals, often representating an organization, in order to inform, persuade or remind an individual or group to take appropriate action, as required by the sponsors representative (Fill, 1999, p. 6). Tour agencies can use personal selling tools through their sales people & agents.

Billboards, leaflets: Billboards across the country visualizing the natural attractions of the sundarban can promote the spot vigorously; leaflets will also be a good tool for promoting sundarban.

Newspaper, magazine: Newspaper and magazine is an effective promotional tool at present time. We can use different daily newspapers and magazines to advertise features of sundarban.

Website: website will probably the most effective promotional tool for sundarban as through an attractive website we can describe our ecological beauty sundarban fully and attractively to the tourist worldwide.Word-of-mouth: another important tool is word-of-mouth promotion. Our inbound tourist can speak about sundarban to others and to outsiders so that they are interested to visit that place.

Place (Distribution): Here place means distribution which is slightly different in meaning in case of service,it is the availabily of service.Here it means taking the tourists to the sundarban that is the transportation facilitie. From Bangladesh's capital of Dhaka, Sundarbans is reachable by bus to Khulna. Alternately, the Indian side of Sundarbans is a short bus ride from Kolkata.Innumerable creeks, channels and tidal creeks interlace Sundarbans. Excepting the Hooghly on the west and the Ichhamati on the east, all other water channels are delinked from the headwater sources from the upland rivers. Though the rivers are tidal in nature, free tidal flushing of the spill areas was interrupted by premature reclamation of the land.

Tidal rivers here carry large volume of sediments only to be deposited on the riverbed creating acute problem of drainage.

The main estuaries from east to west are the Raimongal, the Kalindi, the Gosaba, the Bidyadhari, the Herobhanga, the Bidya, the Matla, the Thakuran, the Saptomukhi and the Hooghly. The average tidal amplitude in these estuaries ranges from 3.5 to 5.0 metres.

Composed of Aluvio-estuarine sediments much of this region lies below 3 metres, though there are few hummocky grounds scatteredly distributed in areas adjoining Bishnupur-Mograhat police stations as well as Baruipur-Joynagar-Mathurapur-Mandirbazar, along the remnants of the Adiganga, along the Ichhamati river bank and in Joynagar-Canning-Basanti-Gosaba areas.People: people here indicate the tour guides.
