to the specifications needed for flexible, yet consistent display across

Dinsmore properties with mimimal manipulation. These guidelines

are critical to strengthening our brand image across all markets.

• Target Frame: 1200(W) x 1850(H) pixels

• Minimum file size: 1MB

• Subject should appear from waist up, standing or sitting

• Background: Solid light-mid gray

• Final portraits should not crop: Leave open areas around the head, shoulders and arms to allow for consistent web/email thumbnails and featured promotions (see examples at right).

CroppingTheGreatJakesRainmakerCMSincludesabuilt-inphoto-croppingtool.However,wedonotrecommendthatyouusethistoolforportraits.Forbestresults,haveaprofessionalusePhotoshoporasimilartooltoadjustandcropthephotos.RequiredCropSizesEachportraitonthewebsiteneedstobedeliveredatthreesizes.Twoofthesizessharethesamecrop/aspectratio.Detailsarewithinthisdocument.

UploadingPortraitsOnceallofthephotosareadjustedandcropped,GreatJakeswillperformaone-timeimportofyourphotosatnoadditionalcost.ForGreatJakestoperformthisimport,youmustenterintoaspreadsheetthefilenameofeachofthecroppedphotos.GreatJakeswillsupplythisspreadsheetandadviseonitsusage.

MonochromeStyleTosubdueanyinconsistencyamongportraitsthatwereshotbydifferentphotographers(usingdifferentbackgroundsandlighting),allportraitphotosonthesitewillbemadeblackandwhite.WehaveprovidedaPhotoshoplayersfilethatincludesanadjustmentlayerthatremovesthecolorandaddsaslightlywarmtone.

• Note:Theadjustmentlayerisjustastartingpoint.Somephotoswillrequireadditionaladjustment.Whenindoubt,lighteandaddcontrast.

• Note:Theadjustmentlayerisinabiopagelayout.However,beingthatthe“export”imageisthehighest-resolutionimage,itprobablymakessensetostartbyadjusting“export”portraitsandthenusethatadjustmentasastartingpointforothersizes/crops.

Cropping

• Ideally,thesephotoswillbecroppedinauniformmanner(mid-chest)toachievesomeconsistencyacrossbios.

• The“export”photosusetheidenticalcrop(aspectratio)asthemainbioportraits.Theyarejusthigherresolutionforprinting.

• Asthesearethehighest-resolutionimagesused,youprobablywanttobeginbyadjustingthese(toremovecolorandachieveoptimalcontrast)andthenresize/cropthelower-resolutionimagesbasedonthisimage.

• Thephotosmustbecroppedinauniformmanner(andthebackgroundcolorsneedtobeuniform),astheywilloftenbedisplayedinalonglistnexttooneanother.
