Two Basic Principles
• Branding; What is it? Why is it essential?• D.R.E.A.M
BRANDING; WHAT IS IT? WHY IS IT ESSENTIAL?
Part 1
The Definition of Branding
• A trademark or distinctive name identifying a product or a manufacturer.
• A product line; identified.• A distinctive category; a particular kind.
Why is Branding Essential?
• If you don’t even know your own message and vision, how are you going to expect others to know it?
• Helps define where you have been, where you are now, and where you are going.
• It weeds out the people who don’t fit your specific set of criteria without you even lifting a finger.
Successful Brands
Why They’re On Top
• They remain consistent.• They remain relevant.• They keep their advertising relevant.• Their message is simple. (Nike; “Just Do It”)
4 Steps to Branding Yourself Online
• Find your voice online. Some good ways are blogging, posting to a video site, creating a website.
• Your content is key! What is your message? How are you saying it?
• Once you’ve settled on your message, stay consistent!
• Be responsive. Show that you care. If you show that you care, they’re much more likely to return after their initial “first look” experience.
“Dream as if you’ll live forever. Live as if you’ll die tomorrow.”
James Dean

The Principles of D.R.E.A.M
D – DisciplineR – ReactE – EnlistA – AttractM – Multiply
Follow the CORE of DREAM, and you’ll achieve your dreams!
Discipline
• Starting out isn’t a walk in the park, but with discipline from the beginning it helps keep things easier to manage.
• Set a daily schedule for yourself.• Keep focused.• Trust yourself.
React
• Your reaction to every situation is key. Are you negative or positive?
• React to things quickly and efficiently. Don’t let important things go on the back burner.
• Keep your emotions in check, but let them help you in your reactions. Don’t cry about mistakes, but don’t be emotionless either.
• Anticipate problems before they become problems.
Enlist
• Enlist people around you who you admire.• Enlist people around you who have skills that
you’re missing.• Enlist a set of mentors who are in your field.• Enlist people who dream.• Enlist your family and friends to support you.
Attract
Who TO attract:• Dreamers• Motivated Individuals• Positive Thinkers• Committed People• Hard Workers• Good Communicators• Creative People• Leaders• Teachable/Coachable
Individuals
Who NOT TO attract:• Procrastinators• “Say”ers, not “Do”ers.• Whiners• Uncooperative Mindsets• People with a “ME” attitude
Multiply
• Take what you’re doing to the streets.• Get others interested in the opportunity or
product or service that you’re providing.• Hold meetings so people can get on the inside
of what you’re doing and get to know you more.
• Make “signing up”, buying, or your service transaction easy.
“You are never given a dream without also being given the power to make it true. You may have to work for it, however.”
Richard Bach
