COMPOSITION RULES

Rule of Thirds Rule of thirds is when an image is
divided into 9 equal segments by 2 vertical lines and 2 horizontal lines. The rule of third states that the important elements in an image should be positioned on a third.
Balancing Elements Balancing Elements is when your
main subject is off the centre of the image. This effect creates a more interesting photo.
Leading Lines Leading Lines is when in pictures,
our eye is drawn to the lines and therefore, the lines lead to an element in the picture that wants to be showcased.
Symmetry and Patterns Symmetry and Patterns are
different ways to showcase a subject.
Viewpoint Viewpoint is the
sides and angles from which an object can be seen
Background Background is The part of a
picture or design that serves as a setting to the main figures or objects, or that appears furthest from the viewer.
Depth The apparent existence of
three dimensions in a picture, photograph, or other two-dimensional representation; perspective.
Framing Framing is when in
photography and cinematography, framing is a technique used to bring the focus to the subject.
Cropping Cropping is Cropping
refers to the removal of the outer parts of an image to improve framing, accentuate subject matter.
Experimentation Experimentation is taking
advantage of the fact and experimental value of the
picture.
