October is a great time for seniors in Maroondah, with a range of activities and events to enjoy during the annual Seniors Festival celebrations.
Once again, Maroondah has a line-up of wonderful activities planned for residents during the month of October.
The Victorian Seniors Festival recognises the achievements and contributions of older people within our community by offering a diverse, exciting and enjoyable program of events supported and provided by local seniors clubs, groups, services and programs.
Maroondah City Council is proud to provide an exciting and enjoyable program of events and we encourage you to take part in the activities and celebrations that are being held during the month.
And don’t forget Council’s free Seniors Festival Day at Karralyka on Thursday 8 October from 10.30am. There are a range of activities on offer including the Seniors Wellbeing Expo; the Seniors Festival Celebration Lunch with Denise Drysdale; and a screening of ‘Alive Inside’. More details are in this booklet and on Council’s website.
Please note payments for activities can be made at Council service centres, unless otherwise noted. Cancellations of paid activities must be made seven days prior to the event for a refund.
Safety note: Some events involve a lot of walking in areas of uneven surface and/or negotiating stairs and steps. These outings are especially marked on the program. It is essential that those participating in these activities be independently mobile. No carer assistance is provided. It is recommended that people requiring assistance of mobility aids eg. frames, wheelchairs, walking sticks etc, consider joining other activities listed in the program.
