INT. LIBRARY, THE WILDER RESIDENCE - NIGHT

An old fashioned Medieval themed Library. A mask is RIPPEDoff the head of a GIRL no older than 16. She opens her eyesand sees:

GEOFFREY WILDER, forties, a bald, African American Manflanked by his wife, CATHERINE WILDER, forties, an Africanbeauty in her own right.

The view passes around the Library to;

VICTOR and JANET STEIN(40s), world renown INVENTORS wearingLab Coats; then to DALE and STACEY YORKES(40s), TIMETRAVELERS posed as Antique Dealers dressed in 1950s PilotGarb; to ROBERT and TINA MINORU(40s), Asian-American DARKMAGICIANS in long Red Robes; to GENE and ALICIA HAYES(40s),Telepathic MUTANTS in Brown Robes with Black Mesh MASKS; androunding out the group are FRANK and LESLIE DEAN(40s),ALIEN INVADERS from the planet MAJESDANE, posing asHollywood Actors, sporting Black Leather.

Together, the 12 of them are THE PRIDE.

The scared girl speaks. Her voice a little shaky.

GIRL:W-Who are you people?

GEOFFREY:

We're not whatever you think we are,which at the moment, would probablybe bad people.

GIRL:You had me kidnapped and tied to achair. If that's not bad, you got apretty warped view of good.

GEOFRREY:You should actually be honored.Instead of looking for your next fix,you have the opportunity to help

build towards a better tomorrow.

Geoffrey approaches the girl, dagger-in-hand. She shuddersand closes her eyes -- preparing for the worst. But when sheopens them, Geoffrey is untying her restraints.

life.

Geoffrey unties the girl completely and stands by his wife.

GEOFFREY: (cont'd)We're Thieves.

We do a 360 around the other couples.

DALE:Time Travelers.

LESLIE:Colonists.

ALICIA:Outcasts.

VICTOR:Wise Men.

TINA:Magicians.

Back to Geoffrey and Catherine.

GEOFFREY:to the girl( )

But we exist for sole purpose ofcreating a better world. Humanity isliving on Borrowed Time, and believeme when I say, time is up. And sinceGod works too slowly, we're goingto... speed things up a little bit.Hit reset and remake the world betterthan God himself ever did!

after a beat( )Mr. and Mrs. Hayes, please restrain

the girl.

The Hayes' eyes GLOW Pink. The girl is FROZEN in place.

Mr. Minoru begins reading INCANTATIONS from a SPELL BOOK.

Geoffrey approaches the girl with the dagger.

GEOFFREY: (cont'd)On behalf of everyone in The Pride, Iwould like to say... we appreciateyour sacrifice.

Geoffrey PLUNGES the dagger DEEP into the girl's chest,KILLING her. He pulls the dagger out and she falls to thefloor, laying in her own blood.

We hear a LOUD THUMP. It seems to come from behind a largeMirror on the Wall. All 12 Parents look in that direction.

GEOFRREY:What the hell was that?

INT. THE CORRIDORS, THE WILDER RESIDENCE - CONTINUOUS

In the CORRIDORS, we see four teenagers --

ALEX WILDER, sixteen, Afro-haired African American teenagerwith a genius level intellect.

NICO MINORU, sixteen, dressed in Gothic style clothing witha Red Bandana tied around her head.

GERTRUDE YORKES, an independent, intelligent, and sociallyinept Purple-haired fifteen year old girl.

CHASE STEIN, eighteen, an athletic JOCK. He's the oldest of

the bunch.

Alex is covering Nico's mouth to stop her from screaming.Chase and Gert stare in SHOCK.The four of them hiding in theCorridors as they witnessed their Parents COMMIT MURDER.

CHASE:Holy Shit...

CUT TO BLACK.

INT. ALEX'S ROOM, THE WILDER RESIDENCE - AFTERNOON

"4 AND A HALF HOURS EARLIER"

ALEX, sits with a headset over his AFRO, playing videogames.

ALEX:Come on, we had him that time!

Another BOY's voice speaks into the headset.

BOY (O.S.)Hey man, you're the one that can'tgive us any cover fire.

ALEX:

Let's just try again. Jay, get aSniper and get up into one of thosetowers. Mark, Paul, you guys got theperimeter. Actually move around thistime. Don't just stay in one spot.Becca, you're the explosives expert.Light the bastards up.

Alex button mashes. Gunfire and explosions come from the TV.

CATHERINE: (O.S.)Alex!

Not taking his eyes off the screen, Alex answers.

ALEX:Yeah, Mom!

GEOFFREY walks into the room.

GEOFFREY:Boy, didn't you hear your Mothercalling you?

Alex takes his eyes off the screen for a split second and

his video game character DIES. GAME OVER hits the screen.

His teammates yell profanity through the headset.

ALEX:(sighs; puts downheadset)

Thanks, Dad.

CATHERINE enters the room.

CATHERINE:What's going on?

GEOFFREY:I just found out those damn videogames are what's been making theelectric bill so damn high lately.

ALEX:What else is there to do?

ALEX:Come on Dad, we live in Malibu.

What's a few extra bucks, right?

Geoffrey sighs and pulls up a chair.

GEOFFREY:Son, do you know why we have allthese nice things and live in a niceplace like this?

ALEX:groans( )

Come on Dad, not the Grandpa storyagain.

GEOFFREY:My Father worked his but off for...

Mockingly, Alex chimes in;

ALEX & GEOFFREY:25 years.

GEOFFREY:He woke up at 6 am every morning. Noalarm clock, just a sense of

responsibility.

Alex sighs. Catherine chuckles.

GEOFFREY: (cont'd)And he taught me that...

Alex chimes in again;

ALEX & GEOFFREY:Every dollar makes a difference.

ALEX:

Dad, we've been through this.

GEOFFREY:And it's still not clicking. It seemslike my message gets lost in all thathair of yours and loses its way toyour head. Now, give that thing abreak and turn it off. And cleanyourself up, our guests will be heresoon.

Geoffrey leaves. Catherine remains.

CATHERINE:Alex, honey, you might not see itnow, but one day, you'll realize thateverything your Father and I havedone for you was out of love.

Catherine gives him a kiss on the cheek.

CATHERINE: (cont'd)You heard your Father. Get ready.

Catherine shuts the door on her way out. Alex sighs.

INT. BASEMENT, THE STEIN RESIDENCE - CONTINUOUS

CHASE is thrown to the floor in what's basically a WeightRoom with some weights, a treadmill, and a Workout Bench.

VICTOR grabs his son by the collar.

JANET: (O.S.)Victor!

JANET enters the Basement. The fighting stops.

JANET:Victor, what the hell are you doing?!

VICTOR:The boy brought home 3 C's.

JANET:And going upside his head is yoursolution? What does that accomplish?

VICTOR:

Hopefully beat some sense into him.

Chase holds his jaw as he rises to his feet, chuckling.

CHASE:You hit like a bitch. I think Momcould hit harder than you.

VICTOR:Oh, you're a Funny man now? How funnywould it be if I pulled you out ofLacrosse?

CHASE:You wouldn't.

VICTOR:Try me.

CHASE:I busted my ass to make that team!

that give a damn about Lacrosse. Youdo, but you don't mean shit. Okay?

Janet interjects.

JANET:That's enough, Victor. Go upstairsand get dressed. Now!

Victor walks up the stairs. Janet remains.

JANET: (cont'd)Chase...

CHASE:Mom, just don't.

JANET:We can talk about this later.

CHASE:Can't wait.

Janet leaves. Chase sits down and un-tapes his wrists.

INT. NICO'S CAR - DAY

NICO riding in the backseat of her parent's car, stares outthe window with her earbuds in.

Her Mom, TINA, finally pulls them out.

NICO:looking herself over( )

What's wrong with this?

TINA:You don't care what people may sayabout you?

NICO:I could care less. It's not like Isee them everyday. What do they carehow I look? Besides, it's only a gettogether. We're not going to aBroadway play.

They pull up to this MANSION where Alex and his parentslive, resembling the house from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Nico gets out of the car. Robert and Tina remain.

ROBERT:Why do you always need to go therewith her? You didn't have enough backat the house? You had to drag it intothe car too?

TINA:I'm trying to look out for her bestinterests.

ROBERT:You're trying to control her.

Tina ignores him and leaves the car. Robert follows.

INT. GERT'S CAR - DAY

GERTRUDE pulls up to Alex's with her Parents next. She's notexactly thrilled of going herself.

GERT:sighs( )

Let's get this over with.

STACEY:Gertrude, can you at least try andhave a good time, tonight?

Careful Gertrude, your maturity isshowing.

GERT:But Dad--

DALE and STACEY get out of the car. Gert rolls her eyes, andgets out too.

EXT. THE WILDER RESIDENCE - DAY

A CADILLAC pulls up. KAROLINA DEAN, sixteen, a stunningblonde with an air of positiveness. And judging by whatshe's wearing, she has impeccable fashion sense.

FRANK and LESLIE Dean join her.

LESLIE:Still can't get over how nice youlook, dear. Are you dressing toimpress somebody?

KAROLINA:chuckles( )

Well, one person in particular. It'snot too much, you think?

LESLIE:Not at all. You look fantastic,Karolina.

FRANK:Come on, we should get in there. Ithink we're late.

INT. LIVING ROOM, THE WILDER RESIDENCE - LATER

The five Couples and their Children have gathered in theLiving Room area of the house, conversing with one another.

MOLLY HAYES, a sweet little eleven year old girl wearing aPink animal cat ears hat, approaches Gert, leaning upagainst the wall, staying far away from any social contactas possible.

MOLLY:Um, Gert? Can I talk to you aboutgirl stuff?

GERT:Nope.

Molly Frowns. Gert looks at her and decides to answer.

GERT: (cont'd)sighs( )

What is it, Molly?

MOLLY:Well, all this gross stuff has beenhappening to my body lately, and Idon't know what to do.

GERT:Sounds like something you should betalking to your Parents about,squirt. Not me.

MOLLY:I did. They keep saying they'd talk

to me about it, but they never do.It's like they don't care.

Gert sees Molly getting a little sad and pats her head.

GERT:Hey trust me, that's not the reason.It's just that you're too young. Theydon't know how to talk to you aboutit yet. Give 'em time.

MOLLY:What am I supposed to do?

GERT:Do what I do. Just deal.

Alex reaches the bottom of the stairs and is immediatelygreeted by Chase.

CHASE:Alex! What's happenin', my brotha?!

Chase picks him up for a big hug and puts him down.

CHASE:How ya been man? Feels like it's beenforever since we last hung out.

ALEX:I just saw you last week.

CHASE:... right on, right on.

ALEX:How's Lacrosse?

CHASE:Best team in the state and you'relooking at its Star player.

ALEX:That's great. I'm happy to...

CHASE:What?

Alex is suddenly distracted. Chase turns to see what he'sstaring at.

Nico is walking towards them. Alex is in deep smit. Like avision of beauty he'd only see in his dreams.

NICO:Hey Alex. Chase.

Alex doesn't utter a word, continuing to stare at Nico likehe's never seen a girl before. Chase, on the other hand,reacts the complete opposite.

CHASE:Hey! What's up, Neeks?

NICO:Neeks? You're kidding, right?

CHASE:Geez, sorry. Don't get your pantiesin a bunch.

Alex is practically GAWKING at this point.

Nico snaps her fingers to bring him back to reality.

NICO:Earth to Alex! Are you okay? You looklike you accidentally shit your pants

or something.

A beat.

NICO: (cont'd)backing up( )

You didn't, right?

ALEX:No, I'm... I'm fine. It's just... youlook different. You look good.

NICO:smiling( )

Thanks. You don't look too badyourself. Oh! Before I forget...

Nico reaches in her backpack and hands Alex a few comics.

NICO: (cont'd)Here are your Comics back.

Alex takes them.

ALEX:

My Comics?

NICO:Yeah, the ones you lent me last year,remember?

Karolina comes RACING up to them and immediately hugs Nico.

KAROLINA:Nico! How've you been?

NICO:I've been great, Karolina.

Karolina looks like she's X-Raying Nico. Gently stroking herhair, moving it out of the way to see her face better.

KAROLINA:Wow. You look amazing. You got reallyhot over the last year.

Uh, thanks?

She starts feeling Nico's clothes, caressing her arm.

KAROLINA:What's this material you're wearing?

NICO:Oh, uh, I actually made it. I have alot of free time. Sometimes, toomuch.

Chase gets close to Karolina and puts his arm around her.

CHASE:So... Karolina, you seeing anybody?

Karolina decides to play along.

KAROLINA:Unfortunately, no.

CHASE:In that case, I was thinking, you andme could go out sometime, grab a biteto eat, maybe make a out a little.How 'bout it?

KAROLINA:wry chuckle( )Chase, baby...

CHASE:smiling( )

Yes...?

KAROLINA:Get away from me.

Chase takes his arm off her and backs off.

Mr. Wilder walks up to the Teens.

GEOFFREY:Good Evening, Children. I'd like tohave a quick word with my son.

Mr. Wilder pulls his son aside, away from the 3 of them.

GEOFFREY: (cont'd)Something wrong, son?

Alex is still admiring Nico's beauty. His Dad takes notice.

GEOFFREY: (cont'd)Ah, young love.

ALEX:Huh? It's... it's nothing.

GEOFFREY:I had that same "nothing" look when Ifirst saw your Mother.

ALEX:What'd you wanna talk about, Dad?

GEOFRREY:The other adults and I are about tohead into the Library for a fewhours. You remember the rules, right?

ALEX:Yeah.

ALEX & GEOFFREY:Stay in the Game Room.

GEOFFREY:We'll come and get you when we'redone. And please, try to have somefun. Cherish these moments with these

kids while you still have them.

Mr. Wilder walks away.

Alex looks back at Nico, Chase, and Karolina talking witheach other, looks at Gert still clinging to the Wall, andover at Molly.

He lets out a sigh. This is going to be a long night.

INT. GAME ROOM, THE WILDER RESIDENCE - LATER

The GAME ROOM of the Wilder Residence. Full of Arcade Games,Board Games, and other Console games.

But the 6 kids would rather sit in front of the TV, lookingbored. The last slice of a pizza pie rests on the table.

Nico Yawns. Gert adjusts her seating position on the couch.

Chase INHALES the Pizza slice. Gert is disgusted.

ALEX:getting up( )

KAROLINA:Alright, so what's the plan?

CHASE:We could get hammered.

ALEX:Ok, we're not gonna do that, but um,I have a better idea. Let's spy onThe 'Rents.

GERT:Spy on our Parents? How?

NICO:Yeah, they always lock themselvesaway in the Library to... smoke potor whatever.

GERT:So, unless you have a...

Alex stands with a smirk as the Wall behind him slides opento reveal a SECRET PASSAGEWAY.

The other Kids get up and stare. Molly sniffs the interior.

MOLLY:It smells funny. Like... Stale feet.

KAROLINA:Alex, this is incredible. When didyou find it?

And your Parents?

NICO:Yeah, I've always wondered how ourParents act on their own and what itis they do in there that's always sosecret. I'm in.

KAROLINA:If Nico is in, then I'm in.

ALEX:Chase?

CHASE:Yeah, why not?

MOLLY:YAY! LET'S GO!

Molly's LOUD voice ECHOES throughout the Passage.

MOLLY: (cont'd)Oops.

INT. THE CORRIDORS, THE WILDER RESIDENCE - MOMENTS LATER

The Kids crawl through the dirty, spider-web infested, dimlylit CORRIDOR SHAFT.

MOLLY:This reminds me of a Haunted House Iwent to one time, except this one isway scarier.

GERT:Geesh, I think you were right aboutthat smell, Mol. Jeez, what is that?

CHASE:

I think that was me this time.

GERT:Damn it, Chase.

CHASE:My B. That pizza didn't agree with mystomach. Besides, it doesn't evensmell that bad.

Alex stops. The rest of the kids bump into him.

NICO:Alex, what the --

ALEX:Shh!

On the other side of a Window, their parents are allgathered together, dressed in the costumes we saw themwearing in the beginning.

Curious, the kids all move up to get a closer look.

CHASE:

Is it Halloween already?

KAROLINA:Why are my parents dressed like that?

GERT:Your parents? My parents look likethe damn Wright Brothers.

MOLLY:They look funny. Like Superheroes.

CHASE:

Won't they see us, Alex?

ALEX:Nah, it's a one-way mirror, or a two-way mirror. Whatever it is.

NICO:Can they hear us?

CHASE:You mean you don't know? Dude!

ALEX:Hey, I didn't have time to analyzethe density of the walls, Chase.

KAROLINA:They're bringing somebody out.

Mrs. Wilder brings out the same girl we saw in thebeginning.

GERT:I'm getting Eyes Wide Shutvibes fromthis. I don't think I have to explainwhy that's not a good thing.

ALEX:Karolina, I think you'd better takeMolly and head back.

KAROLINA:Right. Come on, Molly.

MOLLY:But I wanna see the superheroes.

ALEX:It's for your own good, Molly.

Karolina and Molly head back. The rest remain.

NICO:softly( )

What the hell is going on?

GERT:Molly was wrong. Our parents aredefinitely not superheroes. I knew my

folks were freaks, but this pervertedgathering proves it.

ALEX:Let's not jump to conclusions. Wedon't exactly know what's going on.Maybe this girl is some kid that theyrescued.

The Kids watch as Mr. Wilder STABS the Girl to Death.

Nico SCREAMS. Alex immediately covers her mouth. Chase andGert look on in shock.

INT. LIBRARY, THE WILDER RESIDENCE - CONTINUOUS

The Couples' attention is drawn to the Mirror where thenoise came from.

GENE:Did you hear that? It sounded likescreaming.

GEOFFREY:Sounded like it came from theCatacombs.

ROBERT:I thought you said this Library was asecure place for our business,Wilder.

Geoffrey turns to his wife.

GEOFFREY:Dear, I think you'd better check onthe children.

INT. THE WILDER RESIDENCE - CONTINUOUS

Mrs. Wilder exits the Library in a hurry, making a beelinefor the Game Room.

INT. GAME ROOM, THE WILDER RESIDENCE - CONTINUOUS

Mrs. Wilder opens the door and sees the kids playing a gameof TWISTER. Everybody falls down, except Chase.

CHASE:Yes! I win again!

GERT:Get your sack out of my face, youdip!

Mrs. Wilder knocks on the door to get everybody's attention.

CATHERINE:How is everyone doing in here?

CATHERINE:We heard some yelling and... We just

got concerned.

NICO:Sorry if we were being too loud. Iguess we got a little carried away.

CATHERINE:Just... keep it down. We're almostdone down there.

ALEX:Sure Mom, no problem.

She closes the door on her way out. They all breathe a hugesigh of relief.

GERT:Shit! I have never run so fast in mylife!

NICO:I think I'm gonna puke.

KAROLINA:You guys feel like filling me in on

what happened down there?

MOLLY:Hey, why did we stop playing Twister?We just started.

ALEX:Gert, you'd better take Molly to thebathroom. She can't hear this.

GERT:Why not? This involves her parentstoo.

ALEX:She's just a kid.

GERT:softly( )

She's old enough to know her parentsare murderers!

GERT:Come on kid, let's go... powder ournoses.

Gert and Molly leave. The remaining Teens huddle up.

KAROLINA:You guys are scaring me. What exactlyhappened?

NICO:Uh... Alex?

ALEX:Well, it's like this...

CHASE:Alex's Dad killed some hot chick.

KAROLINA:Killed?

ALEX:Chase!

CHASE:

What? At the rate you two were going,we'd be here all night.

KAROLINA:No way. My parents aren't killers. Idon't... I can't believe it.

CHASE:Well believe it blondie cause ithappened. We all saw it.

ALEX:When you and Molly left, My Father

took a dagger and stabbed that girlto death. Puddle of Blood on thefloor and everything. It soundsfunky, I know, but it's the truth.

KAROLINA:But why?

ALEX:I don't know. The only thing I couldmake out was "The Pride."

KAROLINA:The Pride?

ALEX:It must be what they're callingthemselves. Definitely not good. Wehave to stop them.

Chase LAUGHS OUT LOUD. Alex is confused.

ALEX: (cont'd)Did I say something funny...?

CHASE:Do you hear how you sound?mocking Alex( )

"We have to stop them."normal voice( )

Yeah, let's go get some guns and goNavy Seal Team 6 on 'em.

ALEX:I meant like going to the Police.

KAROLINA:The Police aren't going to believe a

bunch of kids.

CHASE:Exactly. You ever seen Training Day?"It's not what you know, it's whatyou can prove." What proof do we havethat our Parents killed some girl?Our word? Our word won't mean dick.

won't try to kill us?

Everybody gets QUIET. Nico brings up a scary good point.

KAROLINA:They wouldn't do that. Would they?

Gertrude and Molly return.

GERT:Heads up, the Parentals are coming.

Mr. Yorkes enters the room.

DALE:Hey kids, we're gonna pack it up forthe night, so come down in 5.

INT. LIVING ROOM, THE WILDER RESIDENCE - MOMENTS LATER

The Parents and their kids gather in the downstairs livingroom to say their goodbyes.

Alex and Nico watch as Mr. Hayes and Mr. Yorkes carry a

LARGE TRUNK to the door.

NICO:You guys need help with that? Ideveloped some killer upper bodystrength over the summer.

MR. HAYES:Thanks Nico, but we can handle it.

ALEX:What's inside? It looks heavy.

MR. YORKES:Oh, just some stuff I'm bringinghome.

Alex and Nico share a knowing look as Mr. Yorkes and Mr.Hayes carry the trunk out of the house.

ALEX:How much you wanna bet that girl'sbody is in there?

any and every question you probablyhave by now.

DALE:This sacred text guides ourorganization and explains everythingwe've ever done and everything youneed to do now that we're gone.

Gert opens the book to read it, but can't make out the text.

GERT:It looks like gibberish.

DALE:It may look like gibberish right now,but it'll all make sense once youdecipher it with the decoder ring Mr.And Mrs. Dean gave you when youturned 18.

Confused, Gert looks to Karolina. Karolina just shrugs.

Karolina FLIES outside the kitchen and into the yard. Thegroup follows.

Karolina SOARS into the night sky. She looks around, gazing

at the twinkling stars. A smile comes across her face. Inthis very moment, she was no worries. Just a feeling ofhappiness and freedom.

Karolina hears Alex calling her from the ground below andJETS back downwards toward the group. She tries to land, butends up SLAMMING right into Chase.

Victor takes aim at Karolina, but before he can even make amove, she uses her COSMIC ENERGY TO BLAST HIM OUT OF THESHED!

Mrs. Minoru uses her MAGIC to make A GEYSER OF WATER EXPLODEUNDERNEATH KAROLINA! Mr. Minoru makes a fist and the WaterHOLDS Karolina in place.

ROBERT:She's not going anywhere. Look out!

Alex LEAPS at the Minorus. Mrs. Minoru backhands him into anearby table. He rolls across it and crashes to the floor.

RADIO:Authorities are reportedly alsolooking for other local teens who mayhave helped with the crime. Inaddition, the Amber Alert system hasbeen activated for 11 year old MollyHayes, who was allegedly kidnapped bythis gang a few short hours ago.

NICO:Gang?

Alex switches off the Radio.

GEOFFREY: (O.S.)I suspect the Police are looking foryou as we speak.

ALEX:And when they find us, we'll provethat you framed us.

INT. BASEMENT, THE WILDER RESIDENCE - CONTINUOUS

Geoffrey Wilder and Lieutenant Flores stand together in aBasement filled with Surveillance Camera Monitors.

Alex is on speakerphone.

GEOFFREY:Son, who do you think tipped us offthat you ran away? Who do you think Iordered to release this story?

INTERCUT BETWEEN THE BASEMENT AND THE PARKING LOT.

Alex remains quiet. It's beginning to sink in.

ALEX:You're really making a case forFather of the Year.

GEOFRREY:Good.

Our Parents own the Cops, and still

took the time to brand us all asfugitives for the murder theycommitted.

GERT:That's just great. We're gonna be onevery single Wanted Poster in LosAngeles.

CHASE:That idea about going into hiding islooking pretty good now, huh?

GERT:I agree with Chase. Jesus Christ, Inever thought I'd be saying that.

CHASE:I'm rubbing off on ya, Gert.

Nico looks in the direction of the BANK next to the Store.

NICO:Uh-oh...

A Black Van pulls up. 4 ARMED Masked MEN in Black Clothesexit the Van, making a beeline for the Bank Entrance.

GERT:Welp, that looks like our cue toleave. Last thing we want are theCops showing up here.

ALEX:No.

GERT:No?

ALEX:Listen, we can't change what ourParents did, but we can change whatwe do now. I don't know about youguys, but I don't feel much likefollowing in their footsteps. I'lldie before that happens. What weshould do is use the resources wehave and help people.

Molly starts having fun with the idea and punches the air,imagining that they're bad guys. She accidentally punchesChase in the gut.

Chase GRUNTS and holds his stomach. Molly Gasps.

MOLLY: (cont'd)Sorry, Chase. Are you ok?

Chase gives her a thumbs up, trying to be strong and not leton that the punch of an 11 year old girl hurt a big, toughguy like him.

ALEX:We can start with those robbers inthere.

GERT:

What about the Cops?

ALEX:We can cross that bridge when we getto it. What do you guys say?

GERT:I say we might not make it all theway across that metaphorical bridgeyou built for us.

pulls out a(Switchblade)

Nico takes the switchblade and makes a small CUT on herforearm.

Nico's BLOOD IS SHED. The Staff of One GROWS halfway out ofher body. Nico uses both hands and pulls it all the way out.

ALEX:Self mutilation brings out the Staff?

NICO:That's how I got it back last time --I drew blood and my chest, like,puked the Staff back out.

CHASE:That is so cool, yet so weird, butstill strangely Hot.

ALEX:Alright, let's go over a quickstrategy.

INT. BANK, LOS ANGELES - MOMENTS LATER

The Masked Men enter the bank and start randomly FIRINGtheir weapons in the air. The PEOPLE start screaming anddrop to the floor.

One of the Robbers force those who are still standing to get

down on the ground. The other Robbers force the BANK TELLERSto put their hands on the glass. These dudes mean business.

LEAD ROBBER:In case you haven't figured it outyet, this is a stick up! If anybodyhere tries to be a hero, they get abullet. No warnings. Just a bullet.Don't try us.

BOOOOOOOOM! The Bank Entrance Doors SAIL across the floor.

ALEX, NICO, CHASE, and KAROLINA confidently walk through the

smoke into the bank. Tough, confident, and ready to fight.

ALEX:The Jig is up, boys! You're all undercitizens arrest.

The Robbers look to each other with confusion.

ROBBER:Somebody tell these punk ass kids,Halloween ain't for another 3 months.

ROBBER #2:

Take a hike, ya damn Rugrats!

ALEX:Nico...

NICO:(aims her Staff atthe robbers)

FREEZE.

Instead of the robbers freezing, a bunch of PELICANS fly outof the Staff and start pecking away at the robbers. One ofthem even takes away one of the Robber's guns.

NICO: (cont'd)What the -- this didn't happen lasttime!

One of the Robbers points his gun at them.

KAROLINA:Everybody get behind me!

The Teens get behind Karolina. She uses her power to form anENERGY SHIELD, absorbing the bullets, freeing them from any

harm.

CLICK! The Robber's gun is empty.

Karolina drops her shield and the other men prepare to fire.

NICO:(aims her Staff atthe robbers)

RUBBER!

The Robbers guns turn to RUBBER, rendering them ineffective.

NICO: (cont'd)Huh. I guess I can only use a certainspell once.

KAROLINA:You done?

NICO:They're all yours.

Karolina FIRES her COSMIC ENERGY at the Robbers, whiskingtwo of them through the Bank Teller's Glass windows!

Alex tries to stop one of them.

ALEX:There's still a chance for you togive up.

The Robber goes for a punch which Alex ducks. Alex tries torespond, but the Robber grabs him by the hair and KNEES himin the stomach.

Chase comes to the rescue and TAGS the guy with a right. TheRobber comes back with a left and right, which Chase dodgesand responds back with an UPPERCUT and a SPIN KICK.

Chase then helps up Alex.

CHASE:You alright, bro?

ALEX:Yeah, but we're not done yet.

There's one Robber left -- the Lead Robber. He slowly backstowards the exit. Nico, Karolina, Alex, and Chase close inon him.

LEAD ROBBER:

You'll never take me alive!

GERT: (O.S.)Wanna bet?

He turns around. Gert, Old Lace, and Molly -- in thatorder -- confront the Lead Robber, blocking his exit.

GERT:Quite while you're ahead, slappy.

MOLLY:Or else.

ROBBER:Or else what?

Molly walks up to the Robber and CLOCKS him in the face,knocking him CLEAR ACROSS THE BANK!

The Runaways regroup and survey the damage.

ALEX:Yeah, it's over. We made a mess, but

it's over.

CHASE:clapping( )

Alright, good job team.

NICO:Not bad for our first bust. Y'know,there may be something to this.

A Bank Teller approaches them.

BANK TELLER:Who are you?

The Kids stop and look at each other. Alex looks at Nico.She shrugs at him.

ALEX:Uh... just a bunch of Runaway kidstrying to do the right thing, ma'am.

Alex turns his head and hears the faint sounds of severalPOLICE SIRENS.

GERT:In 15 seconds, there's gonna be aswarm of blue suits around us. Weoughta get out while the gettin'sgood.

CHASE:Shotty driving!

EXT. SURFACE STREETS, LOS ANGELES - CONTINUOUS

The Van accelerates out the Parking Lot, pulling a sharp

left onto the streets with Cop Cars going the oppositedirection.

The Cop Cars make a U-TURN and give chase after the Van.

INT. COP CAR - CONTINUOUS

The COP gets on the horn.

COP:I'm in pursuit of the suspects.They're going 60 down Alan Street.


Two more Cop Cars join the pursuit with sirens BLARING. TheVan BOOSTS through Red lights, narrowly dodging traffic.

The Van soon comes to a halt. Its path is cut off by a RoadBlock with several Squad Cars.

Lieutenant Flores is backed by a few SWAT Officers. Plus,there's more Squad Cars coming from the back as well.

The Runaways are surrounded.

INT. VAN - CONTINUOUS

CHASE:to Alex( )

We can't get out of this. If I evenrev my engine, they'll shoot thetires out. We're sunk.

ALEX:I have an idea. Ok, everybody listenup.


Lieutenant Flores is about to speak through the Blowhorn,but Alex, Nico, Chase, and Gert exit the Van with theirhands up.

FLORES:Well, that was easy.

ALEX:Let me guess, my Dad sent you.

FLORES:That's right.

NICO:Listen, you don't have to do this.

Lt. Flores counts the kids. One seems to be missing.

ALEX:Karolina, now!

A GLOWING Karolina FLOATS into the air. She sets off aBARRAGE of Cosmic Energy strikes on the ground below,causing the Cops to SCATTER, but being careful as to notseriously hurt anybody.

Some of the Cops aim their weapons at the Runaways.

NICO:(aiming her staff atthe Cops)
