To understand the impact that the Spanish Conquistadors such as Cortes and Pizarro had on the Aztec and Inca Empires

Purpose of this Presentation

•A conquistador is an explorer who settled in Americas in hopes of finding treasure.

What is a conquistador?

Conquered the Aztec empire in Mexico in 1519-1521

Born in Medellin, Spain Parents hoped he would become a lawyer

IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT CORTES!

In 1518 Cortes conquered Montezuma ( the Aztec

empire). When he conquered

Montezuma, he ordered to conquer all Aztec people.

He had over 1,500 fighters, and

over 1,000 of them were natives!
