SCHOOL STUDENT NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY
The school, mindful of its mission to be a witness to the love of Christ for all, admits students regardless of race, color, na onal origin, and/or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and ac vi es generally accorded or made available to students at the school.
The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, disability, medical condi on, sex, or na onal and/or ethnic origin in the administra on of educa onal policies and prac c-es, scholarship programs, and athle c and other school-administered programs, although certain athle c leagues and other programs may limit par cipa on and some archdiocesan schools operate as single-sex schools.
While the school does not discriminate against students with special needs, a full range of services may not always be availa-ble to them.
ENTHUSIASM AND GRAMMAR
There is a good reason that the writings of St. Paul don’t show up as examples in grammar textbooks. Today’s reading is a case in point. It begins with one of those long Pauline run on sentences that leave lec-tors gasping for breath. So what? Take a closer look at how Paul’s fervor for his subject matter derails the grammar. There is something admirable about being so caught up in his convictions that the words cannot come fast enough to express them, much less in an orderly fashion. Scripture scholars usually take this grammatical ineptness as a sign of a passage’s early importance in the Christian community, some-thing they were so ardent about that their language never got refined.
What leaves us in this condition? Re-telling the plot line of an action movie or the play-by-play of a sporting event? When was the last time any of us was so excited by our faith in Christ that we were left grasping for words, stumbling over our own errors in speech? It may be bad grammar, but it is an excellent way to inspire others with the message of Christ!

cilidad”, y los libros en inglés, “A feel better book for little worriers” y “My wandering dreaming mind”.

Dear Mary Immaculate Parish Community,
Due to the Coronavirus COVID-19, our annual Spring Fiesta has been canceled. As many of you know, the Spring Fiesta is our big-gest fundraiser event. It helps us cover our monthly expenses, in-cluding the maintenance of the school building, and financial grants offered to current and new families. Unfortunately, the cancellation of the annual fiesta has impacted our school financially and we need your support.
On behalf of Mary Immaculate School, I would like to ask you for the donation of any raffle tickets you may have purchased. You can drop off your raffle ticket stubs along with the monetary donation at the school office. We are open Monday-Friday from 8am-12pm.
If the donation of your raffle tickets is not possible, we will reim-burse you the money. Please call the school office for an appoint-ment. You will be asked to bring your ticket stubs at that time in order to receive a refund.
This pandemic has affected us all in many unprecedented ways, but we are one body in Christ and we will get through this together. Thank you for your continued support to our school and parish. May God bless you abundantly!
Many blessings,
Veronica Macias Principal
Mary Immaculate School 818-834-8551
Muchas bendiciones,
Veronica Macias Principal Escuela María Inmaculada 818-834-8551
DID YOU KNOW? Read-aloud book stories to stretch your rela-
tionship with your children
Summer is a good time to instill or develop reading habits in your children. Books are a good source to
learn about new things in life and as you read togeth-er with your children it can help to strengthen your
relationship with them and learn about their emotions or concerns, especially during this time of COVID-19.
“Worries, fears, and anxieties are all dragons that sneak up on most of us at one time or another,” says
the introduction to the book “You’ve got dragons,” authored by Kathryn Cave. “It is the perfect read-aloud story for young children whose fears can
sometimes get the better of them.” Among books rec-ommended by the American Psychological Associa-tion (APA) are: “A feel better book for little worriers,” and “My wandering dreaming mind,” both in English,
and “Respira con facilidad,” in Spanish. For more information of the APA’s Magination Press Story

In this time of need, Archbishop Gomez invites the faithful to seek together the
maternal intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Mother of
the Americas. We fly to you today as your beloved children. We ask you to intercede for us with your Son,
as you did at the wedding in Cana.
Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our nation and world,
and for all our families and loved ones, the protection of your holy angels,
that we may be spared the worst of this illness. For those already afflicted,
we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliverance.
Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful,
wipe away their tears and help them to trust.
In this time of trial and testing, teach all of us in the Church to love one another
and to be patient and kind. Help us to bring the peace of Jesus to our land
and to our hearts.
We come to you with confi-dence,
knowing that you truly are our compassionate mother,
health of the sick and cause of our joy.
Shelter us under the man-tle of your protection,
keep us in the embrace of your arms,
help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus.
Amen
