Dear Parishioners, First of all, I would like to take this oppor-tunity to thank you all for your support on cel-ebrating the Feast for Our Lady of Guadalupe. I was so impressed to see so many people in our church during our multiple celebrations in Honor of "La Virgen del Tepeyac". Everything was so beautiful! Thank you again! Believe it or not, this Sunday we celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Advent. We love and get excited with the season of Christmas, which is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year. Christmas is always a time of excitement and hope. Yes, especially hope. Hope is to expect that something good is coming, something great is going to happen. Jesus is coming! Is there something greater than this? Christmas is al-ways a time of excitement and hope. Christmas is a celebration of Love that God has for all of us in sending us His Son to give us peace, to give us joy. I really hope and pray that this season of Christmas is truly a time to welcome the special guest we are having this Christ-mas. Everybody is invited to our Christmas vig-il Mass on December 24th at 10:00PM. We will also have morning masses on Christmas Day at 8:00am in Spanish, 10:00am in English (our celebrant will be Bishop Brennan) and our last mass will b be at 12:00 noon in Span-ish. Estimados Feligreses, Primeramente quisiera aprovechar esta oportunidad para agradecerles por todo el apoyo brindado durante la celebración de la Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Gua-dalupe. Estuve verdaderamente impresionado por la gran cantidad de gente que vino a las diferentes cele-braciones que tuvimos en honor a la "Virgen del Tep-eyac”. Todos estuvo muy hermoso. Muchas Gracias!! Difícil de creer, pero ya estamos celebrando el Cuarto Domingo de Adviento. A todos nos encanta y emocio-na el tiempo de Navidad el cual es uno de las tem-poradas más hermosas del año. En efecto, La Navi-dad es un tiempo de alegría y esperanza. Si, especial-mente de esperanza. La esperanza es la noción de que algo bueno y maravilloso va a suceder. Jesús, el Niño Dios ha venido. Acaso hay algo más hermoso y más grande que eso? La Navidad es la manifestación del amor de Dios que tiene por todos nosotros al enviar-nos su Hijo para darnos paz, alegría. Es mi oración y mi esperanza que esta navidad sea verdaderamente una oportunidad de preparar nuestro corazón como pequeño pesebre donde venga a nacer en todos no-sotros el Niñito Dios. Están todos invitados a nuestra Vigilia de Navidad este Lunes, 24 de Diciembre a las 10:00PM. También están todos invitados a nuestras misas de Navidad que tendremos en la mañana comenzando con nuestra primer misa Martes, Diciem-bre 25 a las 8:00am en Español, siguendo nuestra se-gunda celebracion en Ingles a las 10:00am (celebrada por el Obispo Joseph Brennan). Finalmente la ultima celebracion sera a las 12 del medio día en Español. De parte del P. Walter, P. The liturgical year is made up of six seasons: Advent - four weeks of preparation before the cele-

bration of Jesus' birth Christmas - recalling the Nativity of Jesus Christ and his manifestation to the peoples of the world

Lent - a six-week period of penance before Easter

Sacred Paschal Triduum - the holiest "Three Days" of the Church's year, where the Christian people recall the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus

Easter - 50 days of joyful celebration of the Lord's resurrection from the dead and his sending forth of the Holy Spirit

Ordinary Time - divided into two sections (one span of 4-8 weeks after Christmas Time and another last-ing about six months after Easter Time), wherein the faithful consider the fullness of Jesus' teachings and works among his people

The mystery of Christ, unfolded through the cycle of the year, calls us to live his mystery in our own lives. This call is best illustrated in the lives of Mary and the saints, celebrated by the Church throughout the year. There is no tension between the mystery of Christ and the celebration of the saints, but rather a marvelous harmony. TheBlessed Virgin Mary is joined by an inseparable bond to the saving work of her Son, and the feasts of all the saints proclaim the wonderful works of Christ in his servants and offer the faithful fitting examples for their imitation. In the feasts of Mary and of the saints, the Paschal Mystery of Christ is proclaimed and renewed.

El año litúrgico está formado por seis estaciones o tiempos:

• Adviento – las cuatro semanas de preparación al nacimiento de Jesús • Navidad – recordar el nacimiento (la Natividad) de nuestro Señor Jesucristo y su manifestación a todos los pueblos de

la tierra • Cuaresma – un período de seis semanas de penitencia antes de la Pascua • Sagrado Triduo Pascual – los tres días más sagrados del año de la Iglesia, en el que el pueblo cristiano recuerda la

pasión, muerte y resurrección de nuestro Señor Jesucristo • Tiempo Pascual – 50 días de celebración gozosa por la resurrección del Señor de entre los muertos y su envío del

Espíritu Santo • Tiempo Ordinario – dividido en dos secciones (una parte de 4 a 8 semanas después de la Navidad y otra que dura

cerca de seis meses después del Tiempo Pascual), durante este tiempo los fieles consideran todas las enseñazas y obras de Jesús con el pueblo

El misterio de Cristo, desarrollado a través del ciclo anual, nos llama a vivir su misterio en nuestras propias vidas. Este llamado se ilustra mejor en las vidas de María y los Santos, celebrados por la Iglesia a través del año. No hay ningún con-flicto entre el misterio de Cristo y la celebración de los santos, sino más bien contienen una maravillosa harmonía. La San-tísima Virgen María está unida por un vínculo inseparable a la obra salvífica de su Hijo, y las fiestas de los Santos proclaman la maravillosa obra de Cristo en sus siervos y ofrecen a los fieles apropiados ejemplos a imitar. En estas fiestas de los Santos el Misterio Pascual de Jesucristo se proclama y se renueva.
