LIFE FULL OF ENCOUNTERS How can I describe, or what word can I use to express what I have lived in these three years in the United States, in theDiocese of Lexington, particularly in the parish of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary? The word that could embrace myexperience would be: "ENCOUNTER".In Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary (the school for new priests), I have lived many moments of "encounters" with myself and God in the retreats ofACTS, "cursillo", in my prayers and contemplations before the Blessed Sacrament. I also had encounters with the American culture in my process ofinculturation, which is different from my Bolivian culture or African culture where I did my ministerial service as a missionary priest. I had encounterswith "many faces of God" in the Anglo, Hispanic, Filipino, Indian, Congolese, Vietnamese people. During these three years I have enjoyed my priestly ministry celebrating the sacraments. I also had encounters of dialogue with people in hospitals, inhomes, in some favorite restaurants, around meals with great friends. Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary is for me my "mother house".I give many thanks to all of you who welcomed me and made me part of your family. In the same way I want to publicly thank Father Dan, a goodmentor, for his patience, for his care and for wanting me to be a good priest, a good Christian and a merciful person. I also thank the staff of the parishfor listening to me, for teaching me, for making me part of this parish family. I would like to thank each and every one of you with whom I met; foryour prayers, for feeding me, for giving me lifts, for your care, for your support, for making me part of your family, for opening the doors of yourhome, for inviting me to family events of marriage, celebration of the sacraments, birthdays, graduation. Mary Queen is my family where I had anencounter with God in the church, in its liturgy and the people. It has been a blessing that God has given me. Wait!, Hold on!, I am not going far away.I will be close, in London, Kentucky. Pray for me, for my new encounter that awaits.

Esperen! No me voymuy lejos.

Father Vitner

School NewsFrom the Principal . . . There is much joy and sadness that surround the end of theschool year. I don’t think there is a teacher or a student that isnot basking in the joy of summer break! There is also the joy ofGraduation, this year we graduated 42 outstanding ladies andgentleman that are well prepared to move on to high school. Theend of the year also brings some sadness, as we have to saygood-bye to a few important people in our life. We have beenblessed with the love, joy, stories and care of Mr. Reilly who hastaught at Mary Queen for 10 years. Although it is not truly good-bye (as he plans to sub for us from time to time) we do wish himhappy trails on his new adventures. We wish the kindness andjoy of this school year for all our friends who are moving awayand have other obstacles that will keep them from returning thisnext school year, we wish them the best.

There is still a lot of work to be done to be ready for the newschool year. Don’t forget to make your doctor appointments, getyour immunizations, find the perfect folder and pencil for thenew year, take a vacation – or two – but also don’t forget to goto Mass! We don’t get a summer break from God.

PreK-DThis past year we have laughed, played, learned and enrichedour lives academically, socially and emotionally.  We finishedout the year with a fun day in the sun, we read again some of ourfavorite books, and we enjoyed listening to our guest readers. We had a terrific year.   Happy Summer

PreK-EIn PreK-E, our favorite part of May was field day! We didbubbles, bikes, water sponge toss, sensory tables, obstaclecourse, and parachute games. We even enjoyed a picnic outside. To top it off, we had perfect weather!

KINDERGARTENKindergarten classes had an awesome time celebrating their last10 days of school. They celebrated by popping a balloon each ofthe last 10 days of school. Inside each balloon there was a funactivity for the day. The grand finale was an inflatable day!Parents of kindergartners were invited to come picnic outside forlunch also. Families had a great time celebrating the competitionof their child's first year in "big school"!

FIRST GRADEMay was a busy month for First Grade.  They sang a 'Thank You'song for school volunteers at Mass. Our school is made better byour special volunteers. They had an exciting Field Day wherethey got to participate in many outdoor activities and relays. They also performed two plays, The Three Billy Goats Gruff andThe Cheese, and picnicked with parents to conclude a wonderfulschool year.

THIRD GRADEThird grade is passionate in learning about the culture of othercountries. We celebrate God's people and diversity by having aCulture Festival. Students research about their chosen country, create a presentation and bring in traditional foods and drinks toshare with their classmates at the festival. Third graders andtheir teachers absolutely love this project!!

FOURTH GRADESaint of the MonthAll of us are called to be saints to the people we encounter in thisworld. Our canonized saints are heavenly role models of who weare called to be here on earth. They show us how to live our livesin a way that God desires, and how to live out our call tosainthood.

During the 2018-2019 school year, Mrs. Jackson’s fourth gradeclass learned about a different saint every month. At thebeginning of each month, the class “met” a new saint, learned alittle about that saint’s life, and listened to a quote from thatsaint. It was amazing how many times throughout the schoolyear a student would reference a particular saint’s story or quotein classroom conversation! At the end of each month, studentswere asked to reflect upon the quote of the month, thinkingparticularly about how he or she could apply the quote to their“real life”. In the last week of school, students compiled all thereflections and coloring sheets from the school year into a “Saintof the Month” book. Hopefully the stories and quotes of thesesaints will help guide the students in the years to come.

FIFTH GRADEThe 5th grade has had a wonderful year full of learning, faith, and laughter. I want to thank everyone for all of their love andsupport throughout the year.  I hope everyone has an awesomesummer and can find time to rest, relax and enjoy your families. Can't wait to see everyone next year.  God Bless!

MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE NOTESSIXTH GRADESixth grade wrapped up the year with lots of hands-onchallenges and investigations. Here are just a few shots of ouryoungest Scientists!

LA VICTORIA DE JESUCRISTO SOBRE EL PECADO Y LA MUERTE NOS PROMETE QUE LA GLORIA ES ETERNA

PAZ Y BIEN

¿No creen Uds. queresucitó?

VIDA DEVOCIONAL

“DICHOSOS LOS INVITADOS… AL MÁS SAGRADO CUERPO Y SANGRE DE CRISTO”

arrepintiéndonos de nuestros pecados y pidiendo perdón.

Como católicos entendemos y creemos en Dios Padre, o primera persona. Dios hijo, Jesús, quien es la segunda persona de la Santa Trinidad. Dios Espíritu Santo, la tercera persona;

come tendrá vida por mí.”
