The KKK: By Definition

The KKK stands for the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.

It was started by Former members of the Confederate army.

Members are known for parading around in white sheet like costumes with pointed hats.

The group has some religious roots and preaches white supremacy over all other races/ ethnicities of people.

The KKK's Violent Tactics

Since the early 1900's the group has been known for its hate toward black people, Jews, Catholics, Mexicans and other immigrants.

In the past the group has lynched people and burned mainly black people on crosses. Cross burning is a main activity for the KKK.

The group has been known total get and exploit its victims.

Since authorities have cracked down on the group, the murder cases have decreased.

Examples of KKK Violence

Josephus Andersonan a black man accused off killing a white police officer is killed by the KKK.

A woman and her son are beaten by the KKK for not going to church. The KKK allegedly put Vaseline in their wounds after beating the victims.

The KKK bombed a church knowing that four little black girls were inside, all of which died.

Viola Gregg Liuzzo, a white civil rights worker was killed by the KKK when she was on a tour promoting equal rights.

The KKK Today

The KKK still exists today throughout the nation.

Mostly, they congregate at conventions and preach their beliefs.

Now they utilize the internet to increase their numbers.

They still share the same beliefs as before and exploit people through the internet in hopes of causing them danger.
