Dear Friends of Holy Spirit, We are busy with the activities of the Winter months with school and religious education back in session. Reminder to families that our school will be having their open house on January 29th, from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. With the new state voucher program for financial assistance, we encourage our parishioners to visit the school and meet some of our fine staff. On Monday, the 23rd, I will be flying to Honduras for a week at our twinning parish, St. Francis of Assisi in Texi-quat, Honduras. There will be 12 of us traveling from the parish and I will be one of the novices. Although Fr. Chris has been heading this ministry and has shown a real passion for the twinning relationship, I felt it was important that I also develop a connection with the people of St. Francis of Assisi. This visit we will be taking a eyeglass program that will allow us to fit eyeglasses to many who need them. The program includes 2,000 used eyeglasses through the Lions Club with a “reader” that is able to auto-matically view the eyes of the client and give a prescription, sending us to a certain pair of glasses in our cases! It is all amazing! Our renovated new home is now finished with the completion of the siding last week. So many people have commented on the positive look the new siding has given the rectory. We continue to enjoy the new space and are very grateful for the donations and the workers, paid and volunteer, who helped make it happen. God’s Blessings and Love,
