Haiti Education Fund It is not too late to donate to the Education fund. $260 will help to support a student for a year. Your donation will buy school supplies, a uniform and one meal a day (usually their only meal). Donation envelopes are at the entrances on the bulletin stands. Unable to donate the full amount? St. James Cemetery

The cemetery will be closing for the winter soon. If you have flower pots or trinket items on family graves, now is the time to pick

them up. Any items left will be removed. The gates will be closed and locked on Monday, November 30.

St. James Parish Music Ministry

All are welcome! St. James Contemporary Ensemble rehearses Monday evenings at 7:00p in the Church, sings at the 9:00a Sunday Liturgy. Joyful Noise rehearses Tuesday afternoons at 5:30p in the Church, sings monthly and holidays. St. James Choir rehearses Tuesday evenings at 7:00p in the Church, sings at the 11am Sunday Liturgy. If you would like more information, contact Fran Donahue at 655-3441 ext 105.

Attention ALL Liturgical Ministers!

There will be a workshop/update of all ministers with Fr. Paul Alciati, Pastor of St. Margaret’s in Homer on Saturday, November 21 from 9:30a to 11:30a in the Church. Lunch will follow. Fr. Alciati will provide us with an interesting and lively presentation on the importance of each ministry at the Mass. All ministers: lectors, Eucharistic ministers, ushers, cantors, choirs, musicians, ANYONE who is connected to the Sunday liturgy is welcome! Please contact the Parish Office, 655-3441 x101 if you can attend. We need to know so as to order enough food.

Advent Wreath Making

Sunday, November 29, 5:00-7:00pm, Church Hall

All wreath making supplies will be provided by the Church. Please bring your own scissors to make your wreath along with your own table settings and a main or side dish to share with others at the Pot Luck dinner. There will be a short wreath lighting service to conclude the evening! All parishioners of all ages are welcome to attend! Sign-up boards are at the entrances. This is a wonderful way to begin your Advent season. Join us for this annual Parish event.

Volunteers are needed to help coordinate the event. If you would like to help or have questions, please contact Julia Smith, 697-6206.

Special “Thank You” to all those who helped with the 4:00pm Vigil Mass last weekend. We had a great turn out of kids in costume. Thank you to Fr. Kevin for the special blessing and to Mrs. Johnson and all those who helped hand out the goodies and for those who helped serve the pizza following Mass. It was a “spook-tactular” time!

The Pastoral Council Meeting … will be Wednesday, November 18 at 7:00pm in the Church Hall.

The Children’s Nursery … is looking for wooden train accessories (similar to Thomas the Train), wooden building

blocks, little dolls for a doll house and matchbox cars and trucks. If you would like to donate play items to the nursery, please feel free to drop your item(s) at the Parish Office. Gently used toy are always welcome!

St. Agatha’s, Canastota … The Beauty of God & The Desires of the Human Heart, Wednesday, November 18, 7:00-9:00p. Presented by Jim Krisher, director of The Spiritual Renewal Center in Syracuse. St. Augustine spoke of God as “Beauty ever ancient, ever new.” Jim will reflect on our human experience of beauty and how it reveals the face of God. Small donation will be accepted at the door.

Joseph’s House is looking for help. There is a current opening for a House Manager, someone who is interested in management responsibility for all aspects of maintaining the home and supervising employees.

Missionary Openings looking for two women who are interested in living in Joseph’s House for at least one year and sharing in the Joseph’s House Community. Mass is celebrated once a month at the House, there is a church within walking distance. Room and board provided, $500 monthly stipend paid.
