1. Prepared by, Muhammad Riyan 2012-cs-157 ROBOTIC MASSAGE CHAIR 2. TABLE OF CONTENT Introduction to Invention Robotic Massage Chair Definition History Features Summary 3. INTRODUCTION TO INVENTIONS Invention is the art or method of discovering the argument in the rhetorical situation. Aristotle defined Invention as : Finding and displaying the available arguments of any issue. 4. ROBOTIC MASSAGE CHAIR A Robotic Chair is a chair that contains internal electronic motors and gears designed to massage the person sitting on them. 5. HISTORY Robotic massage chairs were first brought to market in 1954 by the Family Fujiiryoki company. Today, Japan is the largest consumer of massage chairs with some surveys suggesting that over 20% of Japanese households actually own a massage chair. 6. Most Robotic Massage Chairs have some form of controller to vary the type, location or intensity of massage. Massaging chairs vary tremendously in price, style and intensity, from cheap "vibrate only" chairs to full intensity Shiatsu models 7. A less expensive option is a separate massaging pad that may be used with an existing chair. There are many different types and brands, including office-style chairs that operate from internal batteries. 8. FEATURES Kneading Massage Heat Therapy Auto Programs Footrest Extension Music - Massage Synchronization 9. KNEADING MASSAGE The kneading massage is a gentle or firm squeezing movement. The rollers must move sideways across your back to perform a kneading massage. Make sure that the massage chair you purchase has a motor that is dedicated just to the kneading massage. This is ensures that the kneading will have sufficient torque from the motor to perform flawlessly. 10. HEAT THERAPY Many of the top robotic recliners have integrated heating elements into their chairs. Some chairs have the capability to heat only one area while others can heat multiple areas. If you can get the heating with individual area controls, this way you can apply heat to just the areas you really want. Heat is very relaxing and helps reduce swelling and increase blood flow. 11. AUTO PROGRAMS Most massage chairs come with automatic programs. Just press a button and the massage chair takes over and delivers the massage. The auto programs are set to control the various massage techniques, locations, massage systems and durations. If you have lower back pain, then you want to make sure the program can adequately cover that area. 12. FOOTREST EXTENSION To accommodate taller users, a footrest extension is critical. Most foot rest extensions allow the foot rest to go out an extra 3 to 4 inches. This doesnt seem like a lot, but it is the difference between fitting in the massage chair and not. If you are five foot ten or over, you definitely want to investigate this further. 13. MUSIC - MASSAGE SYNCHRONIZATION This is a fascinating technology. With the touch of a button, the massage will synchronize its movements to the rhythm of the music. The intensity of the massage also varies with the tempo. Rock music will produce a more invigorating massage then say classical music. It is an interesting technology and when coupled with the right music can be very effective in reducing stress. 14. SUMMARY In this presentation we have discuss about Introduction, Definitions, History, Features of Robotic Massage Chair. 15. All our discoveries today are based on the ideas of men who lived before us and without their groundwork, modern inventions would have been impossible.
