He said, “Come.” Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus.” (Matthew 14:29) When you hear Jesus calling, do you re-
spond immediately and trust that He knows what He’s doing? If so, you are walking on water! When we say “yes” to Jesus, we feel the power of His
presence in our lives. We can feel the freedom it gives us! Listen to how Jesus is calling you to live the extraordinary life He has intended for you.

Collection for Central and Eastern Europe
“Restore the Church – Build the Future” is the theme
for the Collection for the Church in Central and
Eastern Europe (CCEE) which will be taken up this
weekend.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION Due to the CoVid-19 pandemic it has become necessary to have creativity, hope, love, and joy —during this difficult time, turning it into an opportunity to discovering new learning methods for spiritual growth. To ensure the health of our children, which is our top priority, Our Lady of Lourdes Church will have VIRTUAL Religious Education classes beginning on Sunday, September 13, 2020 through December 27, 2020 Grades 1-8 from 9:00-10:00 am and Grades 9-10 (Confirmation) from 11:00-12:00 pm.
Religious Education Registration now through Saturday, September 5. Once we receive your registration, you can pick up class materials and information. Your child’s catechist will reach out to you with ZOOM information. Please make sure they have a quiet place to attend class, and urge their participation. REGISTRATION FEE: $20/child, $10/ siblings $60/sacramental fee for First Communion or Confirmation
It is often said that the first catechist in any child’s life are their family members with whom he or she lives. The home or “domestic church” provides a real place in which a child learns to live their faith, as well as understanding it.
We, as a church, assist children to learn, pray and build their relationship with God, the Church and faith growth at home.
Great News - Worldwide Marriage Encounter has gone "Virtual"!
To support married couples during this time of social distancing, Worldwide Marriage Encounter is sponsoring a virtual marriage experience called Restore – Rekindle – Renew. This Enrichment Experience will meet via Zoom for seven sessions on Monday evenings September 14 to October 26 from 7-9:30 PM.
Couples will explore their individual personality styles, improve listening and communication skills, understand God’s plan for their marriage, and learn how to keep their relationship a priority. Registration is limited and a $50 application fee is required. For more information or to apply, call Stephen & Michelle O'Leary at 800-710-9963 or visit them at https://wwmema.org/.

HOMILY
FIRST READING FIRST BOOK OF KINGS 19:9A, 11-13A
At the mountain of God, Horeb, Elijah came to a cave where he took shelter. Then the LORD said to him, "Go outside and stand on the mountain before the LORD; the LORD will be passing by." A strong and heavy wind was rending the mountains and crushing rocks before the LORD—but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake—but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake there was fire—but the LORD was not in the fire. After the fire there was a tiny whispering sound. When he heard this, Elijah hid his face in his cloak and went and stood at the entrance of the cave.
RESPONSORIAL PSALM PSALM 85
SECOND READING ROM 9:1-5
Brothers and sisters: I speak the truth in Christ, I do not lie; my conscience joins with the Holy Spirit in bearing me witness that I have great sorrow and constant anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my own people, my kindred according to the flesh. They are Israelites; theirs the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises; theirs the patriarchs, and from them, according to the flesh, is the Christ, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.
GOSPEL MT 14:22-33
After he had fed the people, Jesus made the disciples get into a boat and precede him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. After doing so, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When it was evening he was there alone. Meanwhile the boat, already a few miles offshore, was being tossed about by the waves, for the wind was against it. During the fourth watch of the night, he came toward them walking on the sea. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea they were terrified. "It is a ghost," they said, and they cried out in fear. At once Jesus spoke to them, "Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid." Peter said to him in reply, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water." He said, "Come." Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw how strong the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught Peter, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" After they got into the boat, the wind died down. Those who were in the boat did him homage, saying, "Truly, you are the Son of God."

He ascended into heaven and is seated at
the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the
giver of life who proceeds from the Father
and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic
Church. I confess one baptism for the for-giveness of sins and I look forward to the
resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
NICENE CREED
I believe in one God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all things
visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only
Begotten Son of God, born of the Father be-
fore all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made,
consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit
was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and be-came man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.

Prayer For Making A Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
HOLY, HOLY BELMONT MASS
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord, God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
