Vanities
Now this may be a simple choice but in fact it can get grueling. Whether you live with someone or you’re alone a vanity is a useful space in
your bathroom. You first must decide if you want one or two sinks. If you have one and would like another remember adding a water line to
create the second sink can increase your project cost. Also, if this is the area you use to prep yourself for the day ahead you may be longing
for unique storage space for your items. One option is to pick larger storage spaces like a tower on your vanity or choose unique compart-
ment drawers that can keep your things organized.
Sinks
The norm in bathrooms is the typical drop in sinks however, vessel sinks are starting to become trendy. Vessel sinks can look like pristine
crystal bowls or works of art.
Toilets are getting smarter and more efficient over the years. Water efficient toilets are not an option anymore – it’s the status quo, your
options are more likely to be color, heights, style. Toilets are now designed to help you save money and water with every flush.
Tubs vs walk-in Shower?
The debate rages on between getting a tub or walk in shower. If the space allows it most people will have both, a soaking free standing tub
and a walk in shower. It all depends on the space and what your budget allows. Most homes have
the shower/tub combo which is ideal for young families. Having
the tub is essential if you have small children. Most people who
choose to renovate do so after the children have left the home
and they want to get rid of the tub. Most of these people are
getting older in age and having to climb over the tub to get into
the shower is no longer ideal or safe. There isn’t a rule saying you
can have either or, you can have both! A new design that has
started to become popular is a soaking tub and shower in one
semi-enclosed area of the bathroom. Closed off by a glass
shower door you can walk in to the shower section before
reaching your soaking tub and take a relaxing shower complete
with a hand-held shower wand. Next to the shower is a soaking
tub where you may want to light some candles and add some
bubble bath next time you want to unwind. This design is a
great way to have the best of both worlds if you don’t want to
part with your tub, or you want the soaking tub you desire but
not the room to have one. This design works in narrow spaces,
which is the typical amount of space most homes have.
A master bathroom remodel is your sanctuary and safe haven,
make sure you are getting everything you want with the space
that you have. Try researching what kind of look you want to
accomplish before meeting with your contractor
