Class SA1: 10.00 – 11.30 Working with furniture locks. How to identify & source some of the more unusual types of locks. Hints & tips on openings,repairs, core removal etc. Obtaining spares from manufacturers. Code key cutting, how to crossreference & obtaining codes that are not on the key machine programmes. Master keys, passkeys, wrong codes etc.

Peter Wosahlo. Having been a locksmith for over 40 years, Peter`s enthusiasm for the trade is asstrong as ever & he will try to impart some of the many tips he has picked up over the years.

Class SA2 11.00 – 12.00 Lock DecodersTopical developments in the auto locksmith sector. This progressive company will be passing ontheir knowledge regarding the latest equipment.

Class SA3 11.00 – 12.30 Auto picks & de-coding. ** RestrictedHow to identify the type of pick from make, model & year of vehicle. Lock de-coding, picking,Over-lifting & jiggling. Dedicated tools. This class will look at the scenario of a car & go throughthe procedures of producing a working key.

Keyprint (2 lecturers) Keyprint are experts at lock/vehicle tools. This class should be attendedwith class SA6 by all those engineers wishing to enter the auto market.

Class SA4 12.00 – 2.00 Mechanical digital locks *** restrictedThis class will cover the most common types of mechanical digital locks that you all encounter.Servicing the locks, finding lost codes as well as opening techniques, this class will be invaluableto those looking to start this type of work or expand existing skills.

Gary Eckersall & Simon Griffiths. Both Gary & Simon are MLA lecturers with many yearsexperience and we thank them for agreeing to “come south” to pass on their vast knowledge.

Class SA5 1.30 – 3.30 Understanding safe combination locks. ** restrictedThis class will cover the construction of the lock, servicing, repairs, setting & changing the code.Fault finding and basic manipulation. This class will be hands on so will be invaluable to all butthe most experienced safe engineers

Nigel Frankland.Nigel has been a safe engineer all his life so is an expert in his field. He still findsthe work rewarding and is prepared to share his knowledge with other members.

Class SA6 2.00 – 3.30 Auto Transponder programming. ** restricted This will cover key cutting, programming, cloning & transponder types. This class will complimentclass SA 3 for anyone wishing to enter the ever changing world of auto locksmithing.Keyprint. 2 lecturers.

Class SU1 10.00 – 11.00 How to pass the BLI exams.

This will cover both the entrance exam and the full BLI exam. What to expect and what theexaminers are looking for. Examples of possible questions asked.

Class SU2 11.30 – 12.30 Cutting a 110 key to the lock (for the MLA exam)Gary will demonstrate the cutting of the key & explain what the examiners will be looking for.These classes will be of great benefit if you are thinking of taking either of the exams. Gary Eckersall. Gary has been giving these classes for 15 years and students have always foundthem very beneficial.

If there is sufficient interest, you can take the entrance exam or the written part of thefull exam after these classes. Please speak to HQ.

Class SU3 10.00 -11.30 Opening locks by destructive procedures ** restrictedThis class will look at the locking systems for UPVC & wooden doors on domestic & commercial.To effect entry by destructive means but with the minimum of damage. Pin tumbler & morticeincl BS. Relevant tools.Keyprint. 2 lecturers

Class SU4 12.30 – 2.00 Opening locks by non-destructive procedures ** restrictedThis will cover non-destructive means of entry to pin tumbler & mortice incl BS.Picking tools, lock bypass techniques, lever lock de-coding & key production.Keyprint. 2 lecturers
