Welcome to the Faculty of Business (FB) of PolyU.

FB is a world-class business school that offers high-quality academic programmes and conducts

cutting-edge research. We have achieved accreditations from AACSB (The Association to Advance

Collegiate Schools of Business) and EQUIS (EFMD Quality Improvement System).

BEYONDTHE CLASSROOM

Leadership Development

The MBA Orientation Workshop held in Hong Kong from 31 August to 1 September 2019 was aimed at

providing students with an orientation to the MBA programme as well as an opportunity to get better

acquainted with each other. During the lectures, games, and outward-bound activities, students not only

had fun but also gained management experience.

Field Study in Dublin, Ireland

During the trip to Dublin from 20 to 24 May 2019, students visited the Guinness Enterprise Centre, Trinity

College Dublin Business School, Waterfall Farm, Teeling Whiskey Distillery, Guinness Storehouse,

National Institute for Bioprocessing Research, and attended a sharing by the founders of Chasing Returns,

Aylien and HealthBeacon at Dublin City University Business School.

Field Study in Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Students went on a study trip to Amsterdam from 7 to 11 January 2019 to apply the skills and knowledge

they acquired during the MBA classes to real-life businesses. They visited Madaster Services B.V., Utrecht

University, PVH, ebury.com, the microbrewery Brouwerij de Prael, Fashion for Good, the Aalsmeer Flower

Auction facility, and attended a sharing by the founder of 3ega at the Amsterdam health & technology

institute.

ADMISSION

Entrance Requirements

The entrance requirements are designed to ensure that each participant has the appropriate

academic qualifications and disciplinary preparation, sufficient work experience, and the necessary

motivation to benefit from, actively contribute to, and successfully complete the programme.

Applicants should

Have a Bachelor’s degree, a postgraduate degree or a postgraduate diploma in any area, or an

equivalent professional qualification and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a managerial or

professional capacity, and be proficient in English

In exceptional cases, be aged 35 or over with post-secondary qualifications and at least 8 years

of experience in a senior managerial or professional capacity, and be proficient in English

If you are not a native speaker of English, and your Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification is

awarded by institutions where the medium of instruction is not English, you are expected to fulfil the

University’s minimum English language requirement for admission purpose. Please refer to the

“Admission Requirements” section for Taught Postgraduate Programmes at Study@PolyU for

details.

Based on the applications, shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend selection interviews. In

general, candidates are expected to demonstrate their motivation, maturity and ability to

communicate in English.

Award

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

(Early Exit Award: Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PgD BA))

Normal Duration

Normal durations of study for Master of Business Administration and Postgraduate Diploma in

Business Administration are 2 years and 1 year respectively.

Fee

Master of Business Administration (MBA) requires a total of 39 credits. The tuition fee is HK$296,400

per programme (HK$7,600 per credit).
