Position: Owner Since 2000 I have managed my own consulting company performing vegetation monitoring, research and ecological inventory in the Southwest. Recent work has included work on numerous renewable energy projects in California. Clients and partnerships include NRG, Brightsource Energy, The Malpai Borderlands Group, Conservation Science Partners, Ted Turner Ranch Properties Inc., Turner Endangered Species Fund, The Nature Conservancy, Arid Lands Project, U.S. Forest Service, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. Principle duties include hiring, training and supervising field crews to collect vegetation monitoring and research data, negotiating contracts and coordinating projects, producing GIS maps and models, analyzing data, developing statistically reliable monitoring methods for the specific resource being measured, writing annual project reports and presenting results to peer groups at conferences.

Summary of recent work and training history Principal contractor for The Malpai Borderlands to implement vegetation monitoring, inventory of Chihuahuan Desert grasslands

in the Borderlands region of southern Arizona and New Mexico. I established monitoring plots and transects using standardized monitoring protocols such as-cover, frequency, density, line intercept and paired photographs, monitoring of prescribed burns, rangeland restoration, GIS mapping, archiving of data, and evaluation of previous monitoring data and research.

Authorized biologist for Brightsource/NRG-Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating Station, Oct 2010 to Current Construction monitoring, desert tortoise burrow excavation and clearance survey crew leader. Authorized desert tortoise handler.

Lead Biologist for collecting vegetation and weather data on the Effectiveness Monitoring Protocol at the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating Station. This is a desert tortoise research project in the Ivanpah Valley, California to evaluate the effects of translocation on the desert tortoise. Developed protocols for vegetation monitoring and research.

Subcontractor for Sundance Biology performed desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) presence/absence surveys in the Mojave desert for environmental compliance on alternative energy projects. Compiled plant and animal lists on survey sites. Vegetation community data analysis and report for BLM Biological Opinion on the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating Station. Crew leader for pre-construction environmental compliance surveys for proposed electrical transmission lines with over 500 linear miles survey experience.

Biologist for Ted Turner Ranches. From 1999 to 2008 coordinated rangeland monitoring program for Ted Turner evaluating effects of bison grazing on 1 million acres of land restored with bison in New Mexico, Nebraska and South Dakota.

Turner Endangered Species Fund. From 2007 to 2009 I was project lead responsible for reintroduction of Bolson tortoise (Gopherus flavomarginatus) to New Mexico, a CITES I Appendix A Endangered Species. Surveyed habitat of native Chihuahuan Desert in Mexico to assess habitat suitability for Bolson tortoise re-introduction to New Mexico. Coordinated health and disease

team to assess health, DNA and disease condition of 30 translocated tortoises from Arizona to New Mexico. Coordinated and performed 400 mile translocation from Arizona to New Mexico. Established breeding program for Bolson tortoise in New Mexico.

Share with Wildlife grant recipient in 2009 by New Mexico Game & Fish Department to document status of white-sided jackrabbit (Lepus callotis) in the Chihuahuan desert, a species currently proposed for USFWS endangered listing.
