Course objectives
Complete macroscopic clearance is one of the most important prognostic factors for
survival of patients with advanced ovarian cancer. The BOCS Masterclass was
established with the objective to teach the surgical anatomy, the operative techniques
and the way to avoid and manage complications of radical ovarian debulking surgery.
The aim of the three-step programme for Consultants and Trainees is to share the
Birmingham philosophy and technique for the management of patients with advanced
ovarian cancer.
1. Basic and Advanced Surgical Anatomy CourseTo build strong foundations for advanced oncological surgery on fresh frozen
cadavers.
2. Live Theatre CourseTo experience the dynamics of live ovarian cancer surgery with additional
lectures and videos.
3. Joining us in TheatreTo be part of our team in action to maximise your learning opportunities concerning
the details and pitfalls of ovarian cancer surgery.
