What is PeerIndex?

Peer Index is a web based social media analytics company that

focuses on the who of social media. Peer Index has built an index of

over 300 million Twitter users in order to understand who they are,

what they are interested in and where they are located. PeerIndex

enables marketers to segment and engage their social community

through understanding the individuals in the community. Once

marketers have analyzed who these individuals are through

PeerIndex, they will be able to understand who these individuals are

subsequently influencing.

Understanding the Spread of a Message:

Adding the PeerIndex data and technology into the heart of Brandwatch will

help understand the spread of a message. We’ll know that a message

spread because a particular person talked about it. We will then see how

her audience acted as a link to a different – identified – network of people

within which it was shared quickly and then five people in one of those

networks shared it and it jumped to another group and so on and so forth.

Identifying Influencers by Conversation:

With an index of information for over 300 million twitter users. Adding this

data will dramatically increase depth of market research that can be done

using Brandwatch Analytics. Diving into these users to find a group of users

that care about a certain topic will allow marketers to establish a list of

consumers to engage with for different business cases.
