The archaeology courses at Siena cover the full date-range from prehistory to the end of the Middle Ages.

Field work in Tuscany, Italy, Greece, Egypt, Morocco and Algeria; hands-on experience in specialist laboratories; a proven pattern of lectures, field trips, museum visits, workshops and overseas expeditions.

Through a wide range of technologies you will be encouraged to explore new sources of understanding for the study of the past: non-invasive techniques such as geophysical prospection, aerial survey, satellite imagery, airborne laser scanning and architectural recording; the most up-to-date methods of excavation, finds-analysis, site-reconstruction and experimental archaeology using the latest methods of computer processing.

Courses are offered on public-service archaeology, environmental reconstruction and the pursuit and presentation of archaeological research; work in the lecture theatre, on excavations and in the laboratory; training in conservation, investigation and recording as well as data management and processing.

Education at Siena makes use of collaborative e-learning to provide students with all that they need to further their studies.
