Masthead 1

• The shadowing of this font appealed to me, however the overall shape did not.• This received 0 votes when I asked peers opinions as

the majority of them said it does not fit my chosen indie genre nor does the fading of it stand out enough.

Masthead 2

• This style of font did not appeal to myself nor my peers.• The shape does not fit my chosen genre – Indie and the

majority of people said it looks to formal for a music magazine.

Masthead 3

• This font was far too bold for my chosen genre and does not fit in with my audience preference.• The peers that I asked said it was too ‘in your face’ as it

looks more like a pop genre rather than the indie one I have chose.

Masthead 4

• This is my favourite masthead I feel will fit in with my magazine and chosen genre.• The majority of my peers chose this as their favourite

also as it fit the indie style and makes it look simplistic.

Masthead 5

• I like this masthead font and so did a few of the peers that I asked.• However, I feel it is too simplistic and will not stand out

or be very eye-catching and does not really coincide with my chosen indie theme.

Final masthead

I have chosen to go with this simplistic masthead rather than a large ‘in your face’ masthead at the top of the page.

I feel this fits in best with my indie genre and the large capital ‘N’ represents ‘Note magazine’ making it recognisable for the reader to spot.

It is an effective way of making the magazine look professional and realistic.
