Welcome to the Mat-Su Valley — the state’s fastest growing community! For many people, owning a home is part of their American Dream. Since it was founded in the early 1970s, the Mat-Su Home Build-ers Association (MSHBA) has served as the voice of the Mat-Su’s housing industry. We work to ensure that housing is a priority and that all Alaskans have access to safe, decent and affordable hous-ing, whether they choose to buy a home or rent.

In 2016, the U.S. Census report revealed the Mat-Su Borough sur-passed the Fairbanks region as the second most populated part of Alaska after Anchorage with over 102,000 people. This statistic, and our 130+ home building member businesses, is a critical part of the productive commerce function of the state. From Palmer to Talkeetna, Willow to Wasilla, Big Lake and Houston and Meadow Lakes to KGB and Sutton, we’re building. Bigger, better, more affordable homes are the goals of our labor; safer, more cohesive neighborhoods are the results.

As we continue to grow with the community, I encourage you to take advantage of our organization — whose vision is to build homes in the Mat-Su valley that enhance the quality of living.
