TOOTING & Mitcham Unitedassistant manager Adam Moriartybelieves a promotion challenge is welland truly on for the Terrors.'
Tooting got over Saturday's disappointing 1-0defeat to Ryrnan League Division One Southrelegation candidates East Grinstead Townwith a comfortable 2-0 win over Hythe Town atImperial Fields on Tuesday - with NathanGordon and Dan Summers netting either sideof half-time.
Moriarty praised the Terrors' desire andclaimed the display showed there is no reasonwhy they can't continue to challenge forpromotion to the Premier Division.
"We delivered a complete performance,,, hesaid.'You could tell that we wanted to make upfor the disappointment of losing at theweekend.
"We've cartainly got an experienced and largeenough squad to compete for the play-offs.,'
The performance of new goalkeeper LukeBadiali also impressed Moriarty.
Badiali joined from Walton Casuals last weekto provide cover for fellow custodian paulSmith, who is nursing a bruise picked up intraining.
"Luke has just come in but took no time toadapt which is great to see," Moriarty said. ,,He
didn't have the busiest night but he lookedcomfortable."
Moriarty also confirmed that Smith will beavailable for selection next week, and addedthat centre-half David Graves has almostrecovered from the injury he picked up atHerne Bay a fortnight ago.
"David will probably be fit for the matchaway at Merstham on November 22," he said.."The 10-day break comes at a perfect time forus. It's been a hectic schedule of late and we'Il
be able to enjoy a well-deserved rest before thenext match."
A sixth victory in seven league matchesIeaves Craig Tanner's men in fifth place, just apoint behind their next opponents, Merstham.
Hythe's resistance was broken in the BSthminute when left-back Nathan Gordon skippedinside visiting defender Lewis Mingle beforeplacing a crisp finish inside the near post.
It was the 23-year-old's frrst goal of theseason and one that his performance richlymerited.
Summers could have had his goal before thebreak when he was brought down by Hythe,sLaurence Harvey in the area, but goalkeeperRuddy Hayward guessed correctly, diving low tohis left to save the striker's spot-kick.
He made up for his disappointment 12minutes into the second hal{ though, volleyinghome from a corner - just moments a{ter he hadseen a free-kick saved by Hayward - to make it14 league goals for the season.
