Los Angeles, which was swept for the second time this season (both by Arizona) following a 3-1 defeat last night to the Diamondbacks, have not lost seven straight games since May 3-10, 2013, when the club went on an eight-game skid. Following the weekend set against Colorado, the Boys in Blue will head out on their penultimate road trip of the season, an 11-day, 10-game affair with stops in San Francisco (3 games), Washington, D.C. (3 games) and Philadelphia (4 games). The Dodgers have taken a 7-5 season series lead on Colorado and swept the Rockies the last time they visited Dodger Stadium from June 23-25. The club has swept their NL West rivals at Chavez Ravine three out of the past four times and have been dominant against the Rox at home over since 2014: MLB, Best Home Record vs. Divisional Opp. Since 2014 Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Rockies 26-8 (.765) Washington Nationals vs. Braves 27-10 (.730) Baltimore Orioles vs. Yankees 25-10 (.714) Los Angeles Dodgers vs. D-backs 27-11 (.711) Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Padres 25-11 (.694) (Source: Stats LLC.) Despite the loss, the Dodgers have won 31 of their last 40 games at Dodger Stadium since June 7 and hold the best home record in the Majors with a .732 winning percentage. Los Angeles has not lost six consecutive games at home since losing six straight at Dodger Stadium from April 25- 30, 2016. The Dodgers continue to own the best record in baseball with a 92-47 mark (.662), 6.0 games better than the Astros and 7.0 games better than the Nationals for the top seed in the NL. Los Angeles’ +185 run differential is the best in the NL, 30 runs better than the Washington Nationals. HOUSTON STRONG: Last night, Dodger players showed their support for those affected by Hurricane Harvey with special “Houston Strong” batting practice t-shirts and the players’ wives/significant others and team alumni joined the LADF 50/50 raffle sellers in selling tickets throughout the stadium. The final jackpot was $134,870 and half of the jackpot, $67,435, will be donated to the Houston Food Back. The Dodgers and LADF would like to thank all those involved and fans at home can continue to join in the relief effort by going to houstonfoodbank.org/dodgers. ON TO THE PLAYOFFS: The minor league postseason got underway for two Dodger affiliates last night, as Double-A Tulsa, who visited NW Arkansas, dropped the first game 3-1 and Single-A Rancho Cucamonga also lost Game 1, 7-3, at Lancaster yesterday. Both squads will play Game 2 tonight and look to even the series in the best-of-five playoffs. Another Dodger affiliate clinched a postseason birth last night, as the Rookie-level Ogden Raptors beat Grand Junction 11-7 yesterday. The Raptors will face the Orem Owlz in the Pioneer League playoffs on Sunday. The eight Dodger affiliates are currently 467-367 (.559), which is tops among NL teams and the third best winning percentage among all organizations, trailing just the Twins (.592) and Yankees (.586) farm clubs. SHUT IT DOWN: The Dodgers lead the Majors with a 3.29 ERA, a 1.14 WHIP and a .224 opponents’ batting average, while leading the NL in strikeouts (1,329). Dodger closer Kenley Jansen is tied for third in the big leagues with 36 saves and leads NL relievers in WHIP (0.70), while ranking second with 96 strikeouts. ACE TO THE RESCUE: The Dodgers will send All-Star left- hander Clayton Kershaw to the mound tonight for his 23 rd start of the season and he will make his first appearance at Dodger Stadium since July 23 against the Braves. Kershaw was reinstated from the disabled list prior to his last start on Sept. 1 at San Diego, where he allowed just two hits over 6.0 scoreless frames with seven strikeouts and snapped the clubs five-game losing streak in the Dodgers 1-0 shutout victory. The southpaw has made 16 consecutive starts without a loss since May 6 and the club has won all 16 of those games, which is the longest streak by an MLB pitcher within a single season since the Cardinals won 17 straight Chris Carpenter starts from June 14-Sept. 13, 2005. During that stretch, Kershaw has gone 12-0 with a 1.70 ERA (20 ER/106.0 IP) and has held the opposition to a .185 average, while striking out 131 batters against 21 walks. His 12-game winning streak is currently the longest active streak in the Majors and the longest in his career. The streak matches Burt Hooton, who was the last Dodger to win 12 straight decisions (July 23-Sept. 26, 1975). The last Dodger pitcher to win 13 consecutive decisions was Kirby Higbe from Aug. 31, 1943 to June 29, 1946. Kershaw continues to lead the Majors in wins (16, T-1 st ), ERA (1.95) and opponents’ OBP (.228), while ranking among big league starters in (0.86, 2 nd ), strikeout-to-walk ratio (7.29, 2 nd ), opponents’ batting average (.193, 2 nd ), opponents’ OPS (.558, 2 nd ) and strikeout per nine innings (10.69, 7 th ). The Dodgers are 20-2 (.909) when Kershaw takes the mound this year and according to Stats LLC., that would be the highest team winning percentage in a pitcher’s starts in a season during the live-ball era (since 1920): ML, Best Team Record in Pitcher’s Starts – Since 1920 (minimum 20 starts) 2017 Clayton Kershaw, LAD 20-2 .909 1931 Lefty Grove, Phi 27-3 .900 1995 Randy Johnson, Sea 27-3 .900 1961 Whitey Ford, NYY 34-5 .872 MOVE OVER, MIKE: On Sunday, Dodger rookie sensation Cody Bellinger broke Mike Piazza’s nearly 24-year-old record for home runs by a Dodger rookie in a single-season, belting his 36 th of 2017. With the homer, Bellinger also tied Jose Abreu (2014) for the seventh most longballs in a single season by a big league rookie and now trails Al Rosen (1950) and Albert Pujols (2001) by just one for fifth all-time. Despite being called up on April 25, the All-Star first baseman/outfielder currently ranks among the best in the National League in home runs (36, 2 nd ), slugging percentage (.601, 4 th ), RBI (83, 17 th ) and OPS (.948, 7 th ). Speaking of home run records, on this date in 2001, Dodger outfielder Shawn Green belted two home runs against the St. Louis Cardinals to become the Dodgers all-time single- season leader with 44. TURNING THE PAGE: The Dodgers tonight look to bounce back

and snap a season-long six-game losing streak as they begin a four-

game series against the Rockies to wrap up a seven-game homestand

(0-3). Los Angeles, which was swept for the second time this season

(both by Arizona) following a 3-1 defeat last night to the

Diamondbacks, have not lost seven straight games since May 3-10,

2013, when the club went on an eight-game skid. Following the

weekend set against Colorado, the Boys in Blue will head out on

their penultimate road trip of the season, an 11-day, 10-game affair

with stops in San Francisco (3 games), Washington, D.C. (3 games)

and Philadelphia (4 games).

The Dodgers have taken a 7-5 season series lead on

Colorado and swept the Rockies the last time they visited

Dodger Stadium from June 23-25. The club has swept their

NL West rivals at Chavez Ravine three out of the past four

times and have been dominant against the Rox at home over

since 2014:

MLB, Best Home Record vs. Divisional Opp. – Since 2014

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Rockies 26-8 (.765)

Washington Nationals vs. Braves 27-10 (.730)

Baltimore Orioles vs. Yankees 25-10 (.714)

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. D-backs 27-11 (.711)

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Padres 25-11 (.694)

(Source: Stats LLC.)

Despite the loss, the Dodgers have won 31 of their last 40

games at Dodger Stadium since June 7 and hold the best

home record in the Majors with a .732 winning percentage.

Los Angeles has not lost six consecutive games at home

since losing six straight at Dodger Stadium from April 25-

30, 2016.

The Dodgers continue to own the best record in baseball

with a 92-47 mark (.662), 6.0 games better than the Astros

and 7.0 games better than the Nationals for the top seed in

the NL.

Los Angeles’ +185 run differential is the best in the NL, 30

runs better than the Washington Nationals.

HOUSTON STRONG: Last night, Dodger players showed their

support for those affected by Hurricane Harvey with special

“Houston Strong” batting practice t-shirts and the players’

wives/significant others and team alumni joined the LADF 50/50

raffle sellers in selling tickets throughout the stadium. The final

jackpot was $134,870 and half of the jackpot, $67,435, will be

donated to the Houston Food Back. The Dodgers and LADF would

like to thank all those involved and fans at home can continue to join

in the relief effort by going to houstonfoodbank.org/dodgers.

ON TO THE PLAYOFFS: The minor league postseason got

underway for two Dodger affiliates last night, as Double-A Tulsa,

who visited NW Arkansas, dropped the first game 3-1 and Single-A

Rancho Cucamonga also lost Game 1, 7-3, at Lancaster yesterday.

Both squads will play Game 2 tonight and look to even the series in

the best-of-five playoffs. Another Dodger affiliate clinched a

postseason birth last night, as the Rookie-level Ogden Raptors beat

Grand Junction 11-7 yesterday. The Raptors will face the Orem

(.592) and Yankees (.586) farm clubs.

SHUT IT DOWN: The Dodgers lead the Majors with a 3.29 ERA,

a 1.14 WHIP and a .224 opponents’ batting average, while leading

the NL in strikeouts (1,329).

Dodger closer Kenley Jansen is tied for third in the big

leagues with 36 saves and leads NL relievers in WHIP

(0.70), while ranking second with 96 strikeouts.

ACE TO THE RESCUE: The Dodgers will send All-Star left-

hander Clayton Kershaw to the mound tonight for his 23rd start of

the season and he will make his first appearance at Dodger Stadium

since July 23 against the Braves. Kershaw was reinstated from the

disabled list prior to his last start on Sept. 1 at San Diego, where he

allowed just two hits over 6.0 scoreless frames with seven strikeouts

The Dodgers are 20-2 (.909) when Kershaw takes the

mound this year and according to Stats LLC., that would be

MOVE OVER, MIKE: On Sunday, Dodger rookie sensation Cody

Bellinger broke Mike Piazza’s nearly 24-year-old record for home

runs by a Dodger rookie in a single-season, belting his 36th of 2017.

With the homer, Bellinger also tied Jose Abreu (2014) for the

seventh most longballs in a single season by a big league rookie and
