Material control gates are used in the cementindustry at all levels of production for redirect-ing, damming or dividing flows of material.

FLS have designed gates for all types of rawmaterials, clinker, and finished cement; dust-tight gates and gates equipped with wear-plates are also available.

FLS Material Control Gates come in standardseries for application together with FLS screwconveyors, drag chains, Fluxoslides, and si-los. Gates are available for both transversaland longitudinal installation below screw con-veyors and drag chains.

The opening, resetting, and closing of FLS ma-terial control gates may be effected by re-mote control, automatically by means of RACOmotor-operated actuators, hydraulically or

pneumatically. Manual operation is also pos-sible for smaller size gates. In each case asignal is automatically sent to a central controlpanel showing the gate position.

Air-tight change-over gates have individualmotors for each chute, thus enabling one gateto be opened in the event of a blockage in theother passage.

The use of dividing gates makes it possible todirect the flow of material towards two sub-sequent mechanical conveyors in any pre-selected proportion.

For extrernely sticky materials a specialdesign of control gate has been developedwhich permits fast cleaning by water flushing.In certain

cases electric heating elements are incorpor-ated to prevent clogging.
