BEFORE YOU BEGIN ...1. If you are new to my dollmaking techniques ... click to my website (www.miniatureart.com) and scroll down page to the free MERCI tutori-al. This covers the basics of construction, shoe painting, and assembly.

2. PLEASE READ THRU the entire tutorial directions - before cutting any material. I create and take photos at the same time.

In striving to create the best way to make dolls ... I sometimes add an easier route later in the tutorial.

3. After this page ... my directions will be kept very simple - so that my non-English speaking friends can understand.

4. CHAIR as stated in the ad, does not come with MATHE. I literally kit bashed several items, glued on charms for the back, spray painted it all gold, and cut the blue velvet ribbon with a scalloped edge scissors for the fabric.

5. The CROWN and gold chain - DOES come with kit. I took the crown, and carefully went over with fingernial polish to get a nice golden look. You can - of course - finish this as desired. Same goes with chain.

------------------------------------------------------

DIRECTIONS 1. Paint Shoes2. Assemble doll (leaving off arms)3. Find chair, and same height piece of styrofoam to *make and drape* her on4. Cut two rectangles of batiste out, join edges forming tube. Slide up legs to cover pipecelaner assembly.

SCULPT ON SCULPY III (BEIGE) to make pointy toes, heels or different features!

I love adding toothpick holesinto fimo to hold beads for decoration!

BASE TOOLS I use for making dolls

SKIRT 1. Cut piece of silk material 16 x 4”. Turn bottom edge under to wrong side and glue for finished hem. Glue side edges to form tube.

**IF you need help gluing silk - click to my YOUTUBE chanel where I have a free video**

2. Gather top edge. IF you are newer, lightly seal top edge of silk tube to prevent fraying.

3. Slide on doll and arrange folds nicely. I add a little glue to top of waistband to flatten and hold in place. Let dry thoroughly!

**NOTE** I HIGHLY suggest you make your doll on the styrofoam base. My chair went thru a LOT of wear and tear - taking doll on/off and the pres-sure of holding things to dry.

TIPI used gold fingernail polish for chair, and then went overwith sparkly gold

fingernail polish for the charm on top to add dimension

BODICE1. Cut small piece of lace so it wraps as shown in photos to right.

This piece starts right under her nipple, around shoulder and to back of skirt.

2. Repeat on other side.

3. Cut 3” x 1 1/4” piece of silk. Fold over top and bottom edge to wrong side and glue for finished edge. (or use selvage).

4. Glue around torso for wide waistband. (Ends meet in front). This is suppose to look like a pulled tight waistband.

5. I also glued a tiny scrap of lace edge across her front as seen in photo.

This JUST shows over top of stomacher (direc-tions coming next).

STOMACHER1. I took another scrap piece of silk, and pulled two threads to make it gather.

2. Lay stomacher triangle, over ruffled piece and lightly glue.

3. Take frayed end of silk (fringe) and glue it on back and fold over front for nice design.

4. Either glue (or add a drop of superglue - SMALL or it will stain and wreck WHOLE DOLL) stomacher to front of dress.

I held in place for about 2 minutes to secure and shape.

5. Lastly take fingernail polish (if desired) and go LIGHTLY over top of lace to just add bit of sparkle.

SLEEVES A. PUFF1. Cut out (2) 4 1/2” x 3” piece of silk. Fold edges to wrong side and glue for finished edge.

2. GATHER around the entire square and gen-tly shape, then pull tight, Knot. Set aside.

B. SLEEVE BOTTOM1. Glue porcelain arm onto pipecleaner. I recommend doing this at least an hour before you do the sleeves to set nicely. ... you could even do this step first.

Those arm holes are TINY! So put a drop of Aileens tacky glue into hole, and a drop of super glue. THEN insert pipecleaner.

I also like to wrap white florist tape around top of porcelain (see photo to right). This acts like a band-aide in securing the porcelain arm. Now check arm length, cutting excess off.

2. Cut two rectangles out of silk material. (Approx 2” tall by 1”. ). Turn cuff and one side edge under to wrong side and glue. Now wrap around arm as shown.

Make this TIGHT fitting!!! and seam is on the underside.

JOINING1. Take your sleeve topper (puff) and wrap around arm as shown.

2. Sew little stay stitches on the underside to join sides.

3. NOW ... take and run a few stitches thru - to make tight pulls, and hills and valleys in topper.

4. When finished, carefully glue arm into torso and tie (thread) tight.
