Geometry is a study of shapes , sizes, patterns and also don’t forget positions.

It is also a part of mathematics with properties and relations of

-points-lines-surfaces-solids -and higher dimensional analogs

Gives us all our shapes...Circles, squares, polygons,

Shapes of cold green grapes!!!Shapes of apes, and apes, and apes,

Hiding out behind the drapes, Time to make a great escape,

When shapely shapes, The shapes of apes...

Shapes of scrapes, Shapes of plates, Naming, using,

All those shapes,Circles, squares, prisms, spheres, Shapes that look like rabbit ears,

Angles, curves, diamonds, swerves,Shapes I often, Do observe,

Make me dizzy,Make me sigh,

WHY DID I PICK GEOMETRY? WHY IS IT INTERESTING!!!

I picked Geometry because I am really good at it and also because it is something I find very easy.

Geometry is also something that is very old but yet still simple

I am interested in Geometry because it is nearly as old as the science of Geometry.

JOKE TIME!! What do you call an angle which is

WHY IS GEOMETRY IMPORTANT!!

Geometry is important in my day to day life because: I use it to measure angles I use it in my thinking I use dimensions to measure Use the Pythagorean theorem to measure triangles

and objects like that There is many careers we use geometry in like: - construction use calculations and right angles for frames ,walls all those types of things - Transportation they use it to determine angles involved in the plains flight path also when they change altitudes and speed ,etc. - Medicine we use ratio and proportion

HISTORY OF GEOMETRY

Geometry came out in 300BC by the Greek mathematician Euclid he had 465 propositions and 13 books that he liked to call elements

Euclid’s 13 books didn’t just cover Geometry they also covered Trigonometry and arithmetic

The learning of Geometry wasn’t just beneficial for Euclid it was also for the students too, it helped them with reasoning and also help with basic concepts

They say that not everyone needs to prove something but everyone is exposed to proof.

Geometry provides what they call a “simplified universe”( states project for students by students, 2000) where points and line obey rules and where conclusions are easily verified.

In school they used to be asked not to come to school unless they learnt the elements of Euclid.

WHY IS GEOMETRY IMPORTANT?!

Geometry is important because it is technically a way of life , if we look around us all we see are shapes that we in a sense take advantage of and granted for because we don’t realize that these shapes are actually part of something called Geometry.

It is also important because it gives us reasoning and deductive thinking.

It also helps for reasons like careers if you want to be a carpenter or things like that and you need to use your Geometry skills.

CONCLUSION

Geometry is a study of shapes , sizes, patterns and also don’t forget positions. Some of the things that I learnt about Geometry when doing this project were the 10 things that Geometry is used for quite often. I also learnt as to who invented Geometry and that he was a Greek man. Another thing that I learnt was how old Geometry is ,which is very old! I found Geometry for the most part very interesting and it is something that everyone should like because it is easy and also a lot of fun , unlike other units that put you to sleep because it is so boring and stressful.
