on and finish it. You will get quicker! Pause the video on the challenge you

want to take.

Have a go at finding out the answers to the questions. Remember you can

draw pictures or write things down if it helps you to find the answers (sticks

Maths Session 2 – Time

Watch the video about time on the Year 2 Video Resource Centre.

Star Challenge

Session 2

Make a clock to practise the different times that you have learnt at home.

You will need:

a clock face – this can be made from a circle of card or a paper plate.

a long minute hand – cut these out from paper or card.

a short hour hand –

a split pin to rotate the hands or alternatively you could use blue tack to

stick the hands in different positions around the clock.

a pen or pencil to write the numbers around your clock.

Look at the clock in your house. What numbers are the hands pointing to when

you get up, have your breakfast, play with your toys, eat your lunch or eat

your dinner? Match the hands on your clock to the ones on your clock at home.

Don’t forget to look carefully at which hand is long minute hand and which

hand is the short hour hand.
