Carroll County General Sessions Shoplifting - Kristie Milton, 25, of Elm Street, McKenzie, was arrested for shoplifting after she attempted to leave Dollar General without paying for a six pack of beer and a pack of cheese crack- ers on August 19, according to Sgt. Gary Walker. The items were recovered and Milton was trans- ported to the police department, where she posted a $149.00 bond. Driving Under the Influence - Lashaunda Taylor, 38, of Florida Court, McKenzie, was charged as noted by Patrolman Trey Boucher on August 17. On that date, Ms. Taylor was stopped for a light law violation and determined to have slurred speech and the odor of alcohol. Following several field sobriety tests, which she alleg- edly performed poorly, she was arrested for DUI, first offense, and violation of the light law. After refusing to submit to a blood alcohol test, she was additionally charged with violation of the im- plied consent law. She admitted to drinking some beer and taking pain medication, according to the officer’s report. Theft from Motor Vehicle - Barry W. Moore, 48, of Walnut Avenue, McKenzie, was charged as noted by Patrolman Trey Boucher on August 17. On that date, Saman- tha Ellis reported that between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. her cell phone and several bank receipts were taken from her car, while it was parked at a restaurant on Highland Drive. She stated that a bank representative told her that someone had called the bank at mid afternoon the same date, inquiring about drawing money out of her account. The individual had her account number. Ms. Ellis called the telephone number of the individual and determined where he lived. She went to the residence and retrieved her phone from Moore, and then went to the police department to report the incident. Officer Boucher asked Moore where he got the phone and he stated that he found it in the driveway of Highland Drive. Because of several inconsisten- cies in Mr. Moore’s story about how he found the phone and the use of the phone, he was charged with possession of stolen property. Schedule I-VII Drug Viola- tions - Matthew N. McCann, 20, Paw Paw Lane, McKenzie was charged as noted by Patrolman Jeff Winberry on August 20. On that date, the officer was dis- patched to Manley Street, where he observed a vehicle front down in a ditch. Driver Matthew Mc- Cann was standing near the ve- hicle and identified as the driver. He appeared very unsteady on his feet, his speech was slurred, and he performed poorly on several field sobriety tests, according to the report. A search of the vehicle produced a roach and a pill, found in the seat of the vehicle. McCann was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and possession of a controlled sub- stance, Xanax. He consented to a blood alcohol and drug screen test. Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia - Jeremy David Russell, 28, Locust Street, McKenzie, was charged as noted by Patrolman Leeann Sweet on August 20. On that date, Russell’s vehicle was stopped for crossing the center lane of traffic. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer noticed the passenger had an open container of beer in his lap. The officer requested and was granted permission by the driver, Jeremy Russell, to search the ve- hicle. Upon searching the vehicle, the officer allegedly located what appeared to be the shell of an ink pen with black residue inside. The residue field tested positive for methamphetamine. Russell was is- sued a citation to appear in Carroll County General Sessions Court. Credit Card/Automatic Tell- er Machine Fraud - Joshua Wayne Black, 29, of Patterson Road, McKenzie reported that someone had used her debit card without her permission and re- moved $300 from her checking account at Regions Bank. A sub- poena was issued for the ATM video on July 4, the date that the money went missing from the ac- count. On the video, the suspect was identified as Joshua Black, the victim’s son-in-law. Mr. Black did not have permission to use the card or remove money from the victim’s account. McKenzie Police Reports “Please take me home with you.” Adopt a Pet... carroll county general sessionsshoplifting - Kristie Milton,

25, of Elm Street, McKenzie, was arrested for shoplifting after she attempted to leave Dollar General without paying for a six pack of beer and a pack of cheese crack-ers on August 19, according to Sgt. Gary Walker. The items were recovered and Milton was trans-ported to the police department, where she posted a $149.00 bond.

driving under the influence - Lashaunda Taylor, 38, of Florida Court, McKenzie, was charged as noted by Patrolman Trey Boucher on August 17. On that date, Ms. Taylor was stopped for a light law violation and determined to have slurred speech and the odor of alcohol. Following several field sobriety tests, which she alleg-edly performed poorly, she was arrested for DUI, first offense, and violation of the light law. After refusing to submit to a blood alcohol test, she was additionally charged with violation of the im-plied consent law. She admitted to drinking some beer and taking pain medication, according to the officer’s report.

Theft from Motor vehicle - Barry W. Moore, 48, of Walnut Avenue, McKenzie, was charged as noted by Patrolman Trey Boucher on August 17. On that date, Saman-tha Ellis reported that between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. her cell phone and several bank receipts were taken from her car, while it was parked at a restaurant on Highland Drive. She stated that a bank representative told her that someone had called the bank at mid afternoon the same date, inquiring about drawing money out of her account. The individual had her account number. Ms. Ellis called the telephone number of the individual and determined where he lived. She went to the residence and retrieved her phone

from Moore, and then went to the police department to report the incident. Officer Boucher asked Moore where he got the phone and he stated that he found it in the driveway of Highland Drive. Because of several inconsisten-cies in Mr. Moore’s story about how he found the phone and the use of the phone, he was charged with possession of stolen property.

schedule i-vii drug viola-tions - Matthew N. McCann, 20, Paw Paw Lane, McKenzie was charged as noted by Patrolman Jeff Winberry on August 20. On that date, the officer was dis-patched to Manley Street, where he observed a vehicle front down in a ditch. Driver Matthew Mc-Cann was standing near the ve-hicle and identified as the driver. He appeared very unsteady on his feet, his speech was slurred, and he performed poorly on several field sobriety tests, according to the report. A search of the vehicle produced a roach and a pill, found in the seat of the vehicle. McCann was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and possession of a controlled sub-stance, Xanax. He consented to a blood alcohol and drug screen test.

Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia - Jeremy David Russell, 28, Locust

Street, McKenzie, was charged as noted by Patrolman Leeann Sweet on August 20. On that date, Russell’s vehicle was stopped for crossing the center lane of traffic. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer noticed the passenger had an open container of beer in his lap. The officer requested and was granted permission by the driver, Jeremy Russell, to search the ve-hicle. Upon searching the vehicle, the officer allegedly located what appeared to be the shell of an ink pen with black residue inside. The residue field tested positive for methamphetamine. Russell was is-sued a citation to appear in Carroll County General Sessions Court.

credit card/automatic Tell-er Machine fraud - Joshua Wayne Black, 29, of Patterson Road, McKenzie reported that someone had used her debit card without her permission and re-moved $300 from her checking account at Regions Bank. A sub-poena was issued for the ATM video on July 4, the date that the money went missing from the ac-count. On the video, the suspect was identified as Joshua Black, the victim’s son-in-law. Mr. Black did not have permission to use the card or remove money from the victim’s account.
