Dear Hiring Manager: Building. It’s what I do for a living. No, not in the traditional sense, (although I do work in the construction industry), but in the business sense – whether it’s building a marketplace for a product I’m selling, building an original product, or building a business. Last year, in keeping up with the latest marketing trends via social media to increase business, I created a sales and marketing plan of attack which ultimately built an incredibly strong client base and revenue stream that helped my company grow 25% in the last eight months. In working closely with my clients, I developed an innovative program and corresponding materials that respond to a much needed service to the wedding industry. BiographyMattie  Stevenson (known as the best kept secret amongst her corporate clients) has become one of the most soughtafter event producers and marketing gurus throughout Western New York.   With over 19 years experience in eventplanning and 12 years experience in marketing, she's always raising the bar as she's marveled at by clients and guestsand highly respected among her event world peers for her creativity and incredible work ethic.

Prior to event planning, Mattie had worked in the construction industry for over 15 years. During her tenure in theindustry, she served as Business Development Manager, Marketing Assistant, HR Generalist, Administrative Supportand Corporate Event Planner.

Mattie received her Bachelor of Professional  Studies (B.M.E.) from SUNY Empire State College in 2012 consecutivelywhile attending US Career Institute for her Wedding Planning Certification.  She also graduated from the University atBuffalo Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership's  Allstate Minority & Women Emerging Entrepreneurs Program(CEL)  in November 2010.  In 2005, she completed Canisius College’s Women Development Program in BusinessBasics and Sales and Marketing Essentials.
