    Greetings to Everyone

    We trust that you are all well and that the winter flu bug has nottaken too big a toll.

    NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

    The Executive Committee is pleased to announce that theAnnual General Meeting of the Maungaturoto Memorial

    RSA will be held at 2pm on Sunday 19

    September 2010 atthe club rooms 115 Hurndall Street Maungaturoto.

    Members will receive an Agenda and papers two weeks prior tothe meeting.

    Nominations for Officers of the Club and for the ExecutiveCommittee will open on Friday 6th August 2010 and will closeon Friday 27thAugust 2010. Nomination forms are available atthe club rooms. This year there are vacancies for most positionsand your support in the operation and running of the club is ea-gerly sought.

    During the past two winter months we have endeavored to pro-vide a forum on Sundays for a sports and social afternoon forour members and their guests. These have only been moderatelyattended and at this stage we will not be continuing with thisactivity in August. We wish to acknowledge the assistance givenby members and in particular by Naira Vaney and TerryMcCook in organizing the various activities.

    Subscriptions for the 2010/2011 year were due on 30 June 2010

    Payment can be made at the clubrooms on Friday evenings orsent to the Secretary at the above address.

How would youlike to arrive to find your venue unplayable without an hourswork?Now thats off my chest, another successful twelve-week tourna-ment has been completed and four people have gone away tospend their shares of $1500 prize money in the form of Whanga-rei House of Travel Vouchers.

    Week 10 30 teams. 1st Graham Wintle, Stu McDonald,Adam Booth. 4 wins 26 ends 68 points. 2nd Denis and BarbaraSnelling, Charlie Jellick. 4 wins 24 ends 46 points. 3rd GordonChristie, Coral Todd, Bruce Hayward. 4 wins 23 ends 44 points.

    Going into week 12 six people had a chance of coming in thethree top places. The winners on individual wins ends andpoints at the end of 12 weeks were 1st $500 Whangarei House ofTravel Voucher - Kevin Robinson 36.5 wins out of a possible

    47, and 219 ends 513 points. 2nd and sharing two $500 Whan-garei House of Travel Vouchers Len Lawrence, Sue Wightman,Diane Bough 36.5 wins 218 ends 464 points.The two other front runners who didnt quite make it - KenWestlake and Warren Seque 35 wins 230 ends 500 points.

    Altogether another very successful tournament, but it will begood to have a rest. Ha Ha! pre-season Tuesday rollups withvisitors from other clubs start July 27th at 9.30am.

    holding a day on September 5th at 1pm.

    Northland Centre opening is at Maungaturoto on September11th at 1pm.
