Last winter, Squaw Valley hosted World Cup racing in California for the first time in 19 years. Ski Racing Media (SRM) worked with selected athletes, legends, and key resort management throughout the season to produce and publish targeted content created in a variety of locations leading up to the March event. By utilizing Ski Racing’s digital platforms and storytelling efforts through both content creation and social media distribution, Squaw Valley generated fan attendance and exposure to enhance and reaffirm its brand as one of the world’s leading resorts and a premiere ski destination for an engaged clientele.
Squaw Valley utilized SRM’s team to produce three custom branded content concepts. The first was an interview series with select local and World Cup superstars on tour to highlight what differentiates Squaw Valley from other venues. The series ran on both Squaw and SRM’s social channels and website. SRM also produced written athlete bios for the event’s press kit that was distributed to media worldwide. Lastly, our editors created a written feature that highlighted how the diversity of terrain at Squaw Valley helped contribute to the success of several Olympians and World Cup athletes from the area.

Summary
POC is a Swedish company with a strong mission to save lives and reduce the consequences of accidents among the ski racing market through cutting-edge technology. To support this mission, the company has maintained a long-standing sponsorship of the U.S. Ski Team’s men’s downhill team, nicknamed “The American Downhillers”.
Ski Racing Media developed a concept for, filmed, produced, and distributed a documentary-style video series about the American Downhillers for POC during the 2017 season. The video series included four 8-12 minute videos that were distributed on SkiRacing.com as well as social media. Each episode also included a 60-second teaser spot.
• The series was picked up by multiple media outlets including Outside TV and POWDER Magazine.

LEKI, best known for its ski poles, was founded nearly 70 years ago on the platform of quality and innovation. With over 250 patents, LEKI has introduced more innovations and filed more patents than any other manufacturer in the ski industry. Today, LEKI enjoys a well-deserved reputation as one of the most trusted and winningest race brands on the World Cup and junior circuits.
LEKI approached SRM with the desire to increase brand and athlete exposure across all of Ski Racing Media’s outlets. LEKI’s package included web + mobile app advertising banners, inclusion in Ski Racing’s online Gear Guide, a branded video content piece with athlete Mikaela Shiffrin promoting the 50th anniversary of the Trigger System, and a contest hosted by SRM to offer a scholarship to LEKI-sponsored athlete Ted Ligety’s ski camp.

Oakley was the official eyewear sponsor for the 2017 Aspen World Cup Finals. To extend the promotion of that sponsorship, Ski Racing Media provided a package that included display advertising, written, and visual content. Our editorial team provided two athlete features and on-the-ground coverage of Oakley’s PR event in Aspen. We filmed, edited, and distributed daily recap videos for both Oakley and Ski Racing Media’s social channels. The week wrapped up with a recap video highlighting all Oakley athlete podiums.
