COMMENTS FROM RESPONDENTS

• “If I wasn’t working for a First Nations organization, I would not have known about the plant study or anything going on with Highland Valley.”

• “Every person should be contacted individually before any negotiations are done, not just the Chiefs and Community Leaders… Too much risk to the people and life sustaining water, animals and plants. Native culture has been by-passed completely from the get-go!”

• “Having tours for all the age groups, from all the bands. Having before and after pictures, as well as progress and potential progress. How long is the operation going to be running?”

• “Need to involve and train more [with] reclamation as it is their future that is impacted and protected through proper planning and implementation of plans.”

• “No more mining to be permitted in/around theses current areas, effective immediately. The subsequent damages and losses of habitat & wildlife to date has been too great and irreparable.”
