Description The Democracy Fellows Program (DFP), funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), supports approximately 14 Democracy Fellowships annually, awarding approximately 4-6 new Democracy Fellowships each year. Fellows work in USAID missions abroad or in Washington offices, helping to implement USAID programs to promote or strengthen democratic practices and institutions in transitional or emerging democracies.

Fellowships are based upon the specific needs and democracy programs of the particular USAID missions and offices that sponsor individual fellowships. Fellows might work in activities such as providing policy analysis and advice; developing program indicators or methodologies; providing technical comment on USAID projects or activities; or helping USAID contractors that have been engaged to provide electoral planning assistance, to work with civil society organizations, or to strengthen legislatures, local governments, or the rule of law.

The specific assignments for each fellowship will be established by the sponsoring USAID organization in a work plan, which will be discussed by USAID and the pertinent candidate following tentative selection for a fellowship.

Description The Mayor’s Internship Program (MIP) with the City of Philadelphia is an opportunity for current college undergraduates and graduate-level students to learn about and contribute to the city government that manages operations for the nation’s 6th largest municipality.

Description The Management Fellowship is a two-year professional development program. There is a title promotion to Management Assistant for the second year of the Fellowship. The starting compensation for the Management Fellowship is approximately $36,300.
