Plans

Planning Assumptions•Tropical disturbance off of the east coast of Florida will increase the chance for erratic fire behavior and increase wildland fire activity overall

•Wildfires in SE US are limiting available mutual aid resources for suppression activities in Florida

•No significant rainfall anticipated, high dispersion rates, low humidity levels

•Fires will continue to endanger residences and businesses

•DMATs are available upon request through FEMA

PlansSignificant Events

Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) Executive Order closed FWC’s Everglades Wildlife Management Area north of I-75 (Alligator Alley) to vehicles and vessels (with the exception of canals) because of drought and fire risk.

•Florida Department of Transportation reports that Alligator Alley is closed from Mile Marker 80 (SR 29) to Mile Marker 101 (CR 951)

•Bradford County: Jacksonville FHP Mobile Command Post assigned to field operations/assist Sheriff’s Office with hazardous driving conditions

•Georgia Forestry Commission and Georgia Emergency Management Agency advise that they will be routing evacuations of residents (approximately 50 homes) of Moniac, Georgia (Charleton County) to Florida, near McClenny.

•Lee County at Level 2 activation and currently have two fires burning
