ARE SUNDAY COFFEE & DONUTS AND P IZZA NIGHT GOING THE WAY OF THE DINOSAURS? Well, maybe coffee, donuts and pizza will always exist, but the volunteers feel like they’re facing extinction! We’ve lost about a third of our team members over the past few years as friends have moved away. We enjoy these activities as a chance to mix and mingle with our parish family. If you enjoy them as we do, please consider volunteering your time. If you can help serve pizza and drinks once a quarter and/or coffee and donuts once a month, please see Janice Dyer. (I know, I know, those of you attending the noon Mass are saying ~ “what coffee and donuts?” Well, guess what? No one has volunteered!) Singles, couples, friends, families are all welcome to serve. By the way, don’t we also appreciate Lectors, Music ministers, Eucharistic ministers, Altar servers and Greeters? Can you please consider volunteering your time and talent for these vital ministries in our parish? I can’t bear the thought of parish life without fellowship; I cannot fathom parish life without liturgical ministers… ~Janice Dyer
??!!
Over its 30 year presence, the St. Angela Merici Parish Library has grown to become one of our most prized treasures. Today, the multimedia collection numbers almost ten-thousand titles. Our librarians are looking to expand their team! They are looking for anyone who is interested in assisting with managing the books on the shelves, monitoring the due dates, and making sure the Library Resources are available for anyone who is looking for a good read. Contact Jordan in the parish office (831) 655-4160 to begin helping with this very unique ministry!
Music Ministry provides beauty, joy, comfort, inspiration, and musical prayer for our
liturgies. This is possible due to the generous sharing of time and talent by diverse and committed members.
If you like and enjoy singing, or playing an instrument (especially guitar), please see Lana (our Director of Music) after any of the Masses during any weekend. You would be very welcomed and our community will be blessed with your presence and the sharing of your time and talent. Please feel free to contact Lana in person after any of the Masses, or you may call her at the office (831) 655-4160 ext. 26 or email: [email protected].
Are you or your family feeling called to become more active in your parish? Anyone who wishes to participate, join, and/or help with any ministry or ministries is very welcome. St. Angela Merici has many ministries here that are active, and want and need you to continue to thrive.
Please take time to pray, and listen where you might be called to become active and more involved with your parish family.
If you or your family are interested in becoming involved or wish to help in any ministry, please do not hesitate to call the parish office at (831)655-4160 or stop by and visit the parish office.

Theology on Tap Wednesday, May 29th, 6:30PM London Bridge Pub,
256 Figueroa Street (at the foot of Wharf 2), Our speaker this month will be Thomas R. Lukes. He is the author of God Incidents—True Stories of God Working in the Lives of Catholics. He will be sharing how the book came about including God’s answer to his prayer, “Do you want me to write this book?” He will explain what a God incident is and who the storytellers are. In addition, he will be reading a short story from Fr. Mike Miller titled, The Hitchhik-er. Mr. Lukes will be signing and selling his book after the talk. Money raised will go to support Catholic education in the Diocese of Monterey. Join us for interesting and enlightening conversation as we delve deeper into our faith and enjoy dinner with friends. All are welcome! Join Monterey Theology on Tap on Facebook! You Can also send questions to Deacon Warren Hoy at [email protected]. We hope to see you there!

have served our Country.

Merici Preschool will be Closed in observance
of Memorial Day on Monday, May 27th.
The Pastoral Council meets quarterly to review Parish Pastoral Plan and to assess ongoing pastoral needs of the Par-
ish Community. Primary areas for discussion are Eucharist (liturgy and faith formation), Evangelization (leadership,
youth, community, and communication) and Stewardship (gifts and talents awareness, outreach).
Have an Idea or Concern?
If you feel there is a topic or idea that should be brought up in a quarterly meeting, there are three ways to provide in-
put:
• Place a comment in the comment box, which can be found in the Parish Library.
• Speak directly with a Pastoral Council Member at any of the weekend Masses. Just ask a greeter
point them out to you.
• Submit a comment through the Pastoral Council page on the parish website;
