MISSION PROJECT SPRING 2017… Grace Chapel Lutheran, Bellefontaine Neighbors, Missouri Be a Blessing Mission Project…In honor of our 150th year of school, we will be raising monies for Grace Chapel Lutheran School in a suburb of St. Louis. Their church was built during the same time period as Immanuel. We would like to support them as they have had several challenges during the last decade. We are filling a crayon bank at school with offerings. On May 31st, we will be having a Crayon Day/Weigh-In Day. The children may dress in one color of their choosing. The crayon banks will be weighed and the class with the heaviest crayon bank will get to wear jeans from June 1st – June 7th.

ERA DRESS UP DAY – 150th School Year Celebration Event – Wednesday, May 3rd We are going to have a special “Era Dress Up” day on Wednesday, May 3rd. It is (about) our 150th day of school, so we’re going to tie that into a fun day to remember that we are celebrating our 150th school year. On that day we’re going to invite our students to dress up from an era any time in our history 1866-2017. They can go with the 50’s look, 80’s look, roaring 20’s, their pick. Mrs. Finkel will be tying in our 150th into her 1st – 8th grade chapel that day, too.

THANK YOU!!! - DONATIONS FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS Thank you to everyone who donated cosmetics and purses for the LCMS Michigan District Office Personnel Conference service event! We were able to fill 137 purses with cosmetics for women in domestic violence centers in Bay County, Lenawee County, Macomb County, and Oakland County. There were also about 100-125 extra purses that were being taken by the center in Bay County. Thank you again for all your help, I am truly blessed to know all of you. – Mrs. Thorpe

WELCOME TO OUR NEW KINDERGARTEN TEACHER – Stephanie Gore We are excited to welcome Miss Stephanie Gore to our Immanuel family for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year. Please see her bio below. Hello! My name is Stephanie Gore. I am the second oldest of four daughters in my family. My sisters and I all attended St. Luke Lutheran Church and School in Clinton Township. While at St. Luke, I was very active in music and athletics for the Mustangs. I furthered my Christian growth and education at Lutheran High School North in Macomb. While in high school, I served various leadership roles and participated in athletics all four years. Finishing up my undergraduate at Valparaiso University in May, I am blessed and honored to serve on staff at Immanuel this upcoming school year. I am beyond excited to join the Immanuel community and hope to use my talents to glorify God and foster the growth of young students, learning alongside them in our walk with Christ.
