EtherSound evolution: from ES v1 to ES100 Since its creation in 2001, EtherSound has constantly evolved, in order to better answer to the pro audio industry needs. Major milestones of this evolution include: • 2003 : bidirectional functionalities added to EtherSound (ES v2)

Up to 64 audio streams upstream and up to 64 audio streams downstream on one Cat5 cable

• 2006: ES100 launched, allowing ring topologies and PC control on 3rd port from any device in the network • 2007: : Managing star bidirectional architectures and routing up to 320x320 audio channels through

the new AuviTran AVM500-ES (5xES100 Matrix Router), first AuviTran ES100 enabled product.

The EtherSound momentum

AuviTran team, always at the forefront of EtherSound developments, worked hard to provide ES100 enabled products, keeping in mind that these new products must be backward compatible with former EtherSound versions. Today, the full range of AuviTran products is ES100 based.

The ES100 upgrade program in details We want to provide you with the possibility to upgrade your existing AuviTran products to the new ES100 standard, and we therefore propose you an upgrade program: Upgrade your products to the latest version of EtherSound standard (ES100) at an exceptional fixed low price: 250 € (EXW) each. This operation aims at cleaning up your inventory, and at rewarding your customers for their fidelity, by updating former ES Auvitran products to ES100 enabled AuviTran products.

2. Ready to use EtherSound products, through our distribution network

The launch of the AVY16-ES in 2004 marked the kick off for the use of EtherSound live applications. It was also for AuviTran the first of a range of off the shelf EtherSound products, and the start of AuviTran distribution network. Today, this range has evolved and covers the following products:

• EtherSound card for Yamaha mixers and processors: AVY16-ES100 • EtherSound bridges to mic pre amps: AVKit-ES100 for Yamaha AD8HR and AVI64-ES100 for RME i64

slot based RME mic preamps • EtherSound card for Tascam X48 multitrack recorder: AVX48-ES100 • EtherSound bridge to AES/EBU: AVB32-ES/ES100 (three models: 32 in or 32 out or 16in/16out) • EtherSound redundant link for improved security: AVRed-ES100 (optical or Cat5 connectors) • EtherSound matrix router for 5xES100 networks, for managing star bidirectional architectures and

routing up to 320x320 audio channels (upstream and downstream): AVM500-ES

New investments for our distribution network

• Free technical and pre-sales training sessions for our distributors We moved to larger offices and we have now training facilities Training is free of charge for our distributors (just the travel expenses are at your charge). Training session content (one day):

o Theoretical aspects of EtherSound and new features of ES100 o The different network architectures that can be used: daisy chain, star with switch, ring,

new bidirectional star using the AVM500 or mixed architecture ring + star + daisy chain. o ESMonitor in depth training (ESService, ESEditor, NetPatch, Online/Offline mode) o ESMonitor hands on exercises with different types of architectures

• New AVS-ESMonitor software developments and new software development engineer hiring All EtherSound enabled products are monitored and controlled through AuviTran AVS-ESMonitor software, which has become the de-facto standard of the industry. In order to help Olivier Schneider in providing new software features, AuviTran decided to invest in a new software development engineer: Olivier Choquet who starts in AuviTran on May 1st.

• New communication and promotion tools The AuviTran web site will be revamped this year, and we want to provide you more communication and promotion tools. You will be contacted in the following weeks for asking your requests and proposals. Don’t hesitate to provide us any idea on this subject

• New person at your disposal for sales and business development issues

New AVY16-ES100 firmware with redundant link management

AVY16-ES100 is the new AuviTran EtherSound Interface for Yamaha Mini-YGDAI slots. It is available since July 2008.

New features of AVY16-ES100 include:

• Fully ES100 compliant (Ring, Control of the network from anywhere) • 3rd Ethernet Port for ES100 Network remote control from a PC on a device connected anywhere or in

ring • Management of 88.2/96KHz Frequency • Remote Serial Port tunnelling with backward compatibility with previous Auvitran products and new

Yamaha devices • Multi tunnelling allowed even on a non Primary Master • New: redundant link management for improved security, available since firmware version 0xE02

(Available via AVS-Firmware Updater v3.8) An AVY16-ES100 device can be set to work like a combination of AVY16-ES100+AVRed-ES100. The In/A and Out/B ports can be used as redundant links similar to the A and B links of an AVRed-ES100 and the 3rd port is then used as a In or Out port depending on the configuration.
